Far from it my good man, it's actually a very good sign. As you start moving the toxins in your body and your kidneys have to process them, this does take extra energy. Pay it no mind. It's not a sign you should stop doing it, it's a sign you're making progress. Over time this will definitely go away, and will also leave you with a cleaner, healthier body.
Show up and walk the lake, get your sunlight, vitamin D, fresh air, visual stimulation in nature, all of this is good stuff. Depending on how flat the road is there, at some point you may want to consider buying a pair of roller skates or a bike, to make things more lively.
I remember in one city I used to live, 5 minutes from my place was this little park with a little lake, ducks, willow trees and Egyptian Blue Lotus flowers, on the water. Oh it was so nice and chill, I would go out mornings or evenings for a walk, slight jog or to rollerskate a few laps around it, and every time it put my mind at ease, I forgot all about my troubles.
It's normal to feel a bit weird when working out after a break. People feel slight burning sensations, this nasty taste in one's mouth, causing you to have to spit, it's all healthy detox and it goes away in a few days.
i think you should take a warm bath/shower before workin out - if you have a gym membership, you can go into the hot tub or showers n get loose before you workout, this work well for muscles that are too tight for stretching. i think if you have access to a pool, walking in the shallow end, and swimming, treadin in the deep end(keepin yourself afloat) would be helpful, keep it twice a week atleast for now, n do stuff other days.. light variety is what i would look for..
im probably goingto start doing 'hot yoga' because i heard that is excellent for getting areas more looser.. especially if you have scar tissue the heat penetrates deep
light ass 'compound' excercises too

There's nothing complicated about getting into shape. Just do things that stress your muscles, then feed them, then rest. Repeat. Don't forget to always have a big giant cup of water with you wherever you go .

Well that's alright. I'm finding though I think a lot of the lethargy is somehow related to a load of suppressed anger.

That may be the case, but I'd say that's an indication you're still over-thinking it :-) Sounds like it's going alright though

Might be. Still teh best way to process and release that anger out of your system is a vigorous exercise session that gets the sweat going. At the end of it you're generally able to laugh about issues, due to the nice release of endorphins, which help you chill.
Anxiety tends to paralyze you physically, and the other way around, if you are more sedentary, you get anxiety going through your head much easier, as you're already static anyway. If you start moving, anxiety decreases, normal functioning is resumed.
Are you taking an mp3 player with some music? It really makes jogging much much easier. For me music without any words works best.
