Any hope for mountain dwelling Californians?

Hello everyone! I'm reading Psilocybe mushrooms of the world by Stamets. In the back it lists active mushrooms of northern CA ( San Fran to Oregon border). Is this referring only to coastal areas? I have a bad feeling it is. Anyways, I live in northeastern Ca in Lassen county at 4,000 ft elevation. The mountains around me are covered in pine and oak, but we also have low grassy valleys where cows and horses graze. Summers are for the most part hot and dry, and winter is wet, rainy, snowy and cold. This will be my first season hunting for mushrooms. I would be very grateful if someone could tell me what if any species might grow here. Thank you so much

Maybe Gymnopilus. Get out there and hunt and come back here for IDs.

You've got a shot at a few Gynopilus species and Panaeolus cinctulus.
Here's my advice though: hunt everywhere anyway. You can't waste time hunting mushrooms if you find it enjoyable.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.
