Leratiomyces ceres?
    #18961696 - 10/10/13 10:00 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

These guys are absolutely covering the bark mulch in an area near the wee little cyan patch I've found.  A very handsome shroom in my opinion.

Habitat:
Wood chip mulch under cedar in park, near sea level, BC (Canada)

Gills:
White to grey, adnexed

Stem:
~6cm long, ~0.5-1cm wide (from memory, didn't take measurements), white with streaks of the terracotta red of the cap color at the base, hollow

Cap:
~6cm in diameter, dark terracotta red, conical to convex, becoming flat.  Very old specimens turned very dark red to almost black.

Spore print color:
It was dark, but I've since thrown it away so I can't say exactly...

I transferred some of the nearby cyan-mycelium-colonized sticks to some of the mulch where these guys are.  Hoping it'll take there and won't be outcompeted by these guys.  Any thoughts on whether that might work or what I can do to help the cyans along?
