possible cyan?
    #18961426 - 10/10/13 08:58 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

found about 15 pins growing in the woodchips/bark at mcdonalds.

this is the biggest from the patch

my hopes are not high as i do not see blue bruising but it's worth a shot i guess cause it's the closest thing i've found so far.

not asking for specific places but for woodchips... where would you recommend i look? i mean if i wanted to go hunting for cyans one day. would my best bet looking at playgrounds? more fast food restraunts? i guess i just don't know where to find woodchips that would have mushrooms actually growing. Lol. i've found at least 100+ different mushrooms this month. none being active.

I couldn't give you such a number until I'd searched them all, which for now is what you should strive to be doing.

I almost always find cyans near those guys.  It is still early though.  Only some patches have started fruiting yet.  Don't get your hopes down.  Playgrounds usually use cedar so they are kind of unlikely places, but it depends on the cedar.  The woodchips usually do not look very fresh where they are.  I find most of mine in peoples gardens/home landscaping. I prefer finding them in parks though.

They also get a lot more foot traffic on them than the chip beds or areas thereof I tend to see mushrooms in.
