Hi. First post here. Long time stalker, first time poster.
Is this the Armillaria calvescens? Or something in that family? Found in Michigan, around tree stumps/ dead wood stuff. Been researching this all around the web and field guides book, and have narrowed it down to the armillaria. Is it for sure edible? Dont want to mistaken it for the deadly gallerina. Thanks.
Spore print: White Location: Michigan/ great lakes area

Yes, it's definitely Armillaria. Hard to say which species exactly, there are so many and most look very similar.

Definitely Armillaria if the spore print was white. I have never seen calvescens, but those look like photos online.

yeah. just wanting to make absolutely sure. Looks exactly like all the photos i have seen of them. Going to make fresh mushroom pizzas. These guys looks like they will be great on them. But I have never eaten mushroom I've picked in the wild before. Gone picking alot, just never had the confidence to eat one. Even after spending hours identifying them. But I feel these guys are a good starter.
