Hey everyone! I was driving home and saw these three big boys about 3-4in at night in the middle of my neighbor's yard (somehow). I parked the car at home walked over and scooped them they were growing on the grass it looked like a stump might have been there at one point but was to dark for me to really get a good luck. I have some pictures i hope you guys can tell me what it is good luck!

I strongly suspect Armillaria but you have an orange lightbulb or something that makes me think of more orangey things.

You are almost surely correct.
MagicBoome: please don't ever take a picture in that poor of a lighting. You want the picture to come out looking like the mushroom, as exactly as may be.

If dark spores and super bitter taste, then I'd go with a gymnopilus, maybe junonius. I live in new England as well and have found some gym junonius which look somewhat like those. That said, wait for a TI before ingesting.

Not so good. This is what you should try to avoid.
Indeed, You've got honey mushrooms. M. mellea, or close enough.

Armillaria is a rather nasty tree pathogen. It's a cool fungus, but maybe one you don't want to be propagating.

Meh, they're everywhere anyway. They may not even be a primary pathogen at all.
