Ayahuasca and social anxiety

I noticed that my concern for what other people think of me has dropped significantly since I did my first two ayahuasca ceremonies. During the ayahuasca sessions, there were points where I was struggling with this intense spiritual pain and the prospect of my impending doom, then the thought of people judging me would come up and I would think about how I couldn't give the slightest fuck what anyone thinks of me because I was faced with something so immensely challenging, that the idea of caring what someone thinks of me was completely nonsensical. That connection has stayed with me. Now when I'm in a situation where I would ordinarily care how I appear to others, I remember that this hardcore dimension of suffering is there, and that negates any importance I would ordinarily place on petty bullshit.
At the Santo Daime church that I attended, other people there told me about how they used to be socially awkward, but ayahuasca completely rid them of that. These people were the opposite of socially awkward. Just thought I'd share that, in case others are looking for a way to free themselves from the mental/spiritual prison of caring what others think.

interesting!! For no reason at all... the only thing i seem to care about is what others think of me. Isnt ayahuasca like beyond intense though?
You say "dropped significantly" is that an honest statement? And you dont think about it.. it just naturally happens?

Yeah it dropped significantly. I'd say its about a 30% reduction. Possibly more, its pretty hard to put a number on it. Thats after only 2 ceremonies. Its only been a week, so I need more time to observe, but so far I feel different in a subtle, but significant way.
Yeah ayahuasca is beyond intense, but the same could be said for any psychedelic if you take a high enough dose. The most intense part only seems to last about an hour, then it gradually lessens in intensity for the next 3 or 4 hours.
EDIT: No its not an automatic thing, I have to consciously do it. When I find myself caring what someone thinks of me, I just need to remember the ayahuasca experience, then I no longer care. Its like I'm integrating the lesson into my daily life. Without the ayahuasca experience, I wouldn't have something to anchor me like that.

Same here, but not just with Ayahuasca. From the first shroom trip ever, I started to loosen up quite nicely. Another big one was going to Amsterdam on Queensday, and taking shrooms there, dancing free, out in the open, with all the colorful people, in a place where people are tolerant of being shroomed out
That's also where I learned to dance like I always wanted, in public, full on trippy dancing, not really minding any onlookers one way or the other. Works for me, I've always seen that as a nice healthy expression of individuality, and when I saw the Love Parade on TV as a kid, I thought it would be awesome to be that wild and free out in the open

I used to be much the same some years ago. It does definitely help, and no, it's not "beyond intense". Senior citizens and grandmas are doing it and don't lose their marbles
(random Santo Daime image off google) If you can get to a ceremony, go there. It's awesome times, just stay away from dance works
