They certainly appear to be, some better focused close-up photos would help though.
Nice Kings too.

Couple of the stalks of the kings were a little maggoty. Just chopped them off and I'm about to cook them. Found 2 cracking spots in the last few days for them. All too secret lol

Craterellus tubaeformis is not a particularly large species.
It's not always best to wait until they start to pass their prime either.

These are one of my most favorite eats. Top 5 for sure. Super small with a mega umame flavor. AMAZING

Well Samsquanch you need to get to the mountains or markets and get you some.
I love that you say samsquanch. I do to! Look a samsquanch!
So weird. I have only known one other person to say that and he was the person who said it to me.
Are you from the GP? If you don't know what GP is then you are not from there.

Cooked the chants and porcinis up in butter garlic thyme salt pepper. Fired in some white wine made some flames and added some cream. First time I've tried any of them and they were amazing! Past 2 days I've found 3 porcini patches and a winter chanterelle patch. Hard works defo paying off now! And all pretty close to my house in central Scotland.
There's a couple of hedgehog mushrooms in the basket too. Not the same as lions Maine.they are white with stipes and the underside of the caps are spikey. Do they have any health benefits and what's the Latin name for them? Here's a pic. Found next to the trusty beech again.
