when it comes to pregnancy, err on the side of caution. Babies are expensive and smell bad.

I don't think "very cautious" is accurate to describe someone who remembers to take the pill "for the most part."
OP... I would be very weary of her begging you not to wear a condom. Sounds like she is trying to get knocked up and rope you into child support.
In the ~3 or so years that I have been taking birth control, there have only been 3 times that I can think of where I have actually missed a pill. And one of the times was because I was out late at night at a time I am usually never out, and was not accustomed to bringing my pills with me. But that is what I mean by "remembering to take them for the most part". I think 3 times in 3 years is a pretty good track record honestly.
And even then, simply missing a pill doesn't always mean the effectiveness has decreased. It depends on the pill itself--they're all different and if you take your missed pill within the time frame specified in your information pamphlet, then you are fine.
Not to mention, AFAIK like 75% of the pills are "sugar pills" - i.e - they do nothing. There's only like a weeks worth of pills with the active ingredients. The only reason there is 30 days worth of pills in each, is so you get in the habit of taking them everyday, so you don't miss. But even if you do miss one or two, it's no big deal at all as long as you keep taking them. Chances are the pill you missed was a sugar pill. Even if you miss a day or two of the "active" pills. Just catch back up.. it's not like you instantly lose their effectiveness.. it's an accumulative effect of hormones in the body.
And yeah 2 days of taking pills is not enough. They take time to become effective, I don't think you are supposed to trust it until after a month.

you have that backwards. 3 weeks out of the month are active pills with one week (her period) being just sugar pills.

oh derp. Well either way.. I know you can miss a day or two here and there without it hurting anything, as long as you are taking them consistently.

yeah this is true. if you miss 2 days in a row you might wanna start thinking about wearing a condom for a few days. But as long as you take it within a 3 or 4 hour window each day its statistically more effective than wearing a condom

Anonymous said: If you say that you feel more comfortable with a condom on, and she doesn't respect that, that's a HUGE red flag honestly. I'd have a hard time not using a condom with someone. Because all it takes is her to miss one pill. Her to take some medication (such as antibiotics). Or some act of god.
Believe it or not there are women out there that lie about that sort of thing. If you really trust her, ask her "were something to happen, would you keep the kid". Not just "do you want kids", but "if you found out you were pregnant, you would without hesitation get an abortion as soon as possible without considering keeping the kid at all". If she has ANY hesitation or insincerity, GTFO.

Don't stop man, it could be a trap! Also wearing condoms makes it a lot easier to clean up.
