Has anyone heard of this? Some guy has had a 10,000 cash prize available if anyone can provide him a piece of evidence of a god or supernatural powers. It has been like 40 years and no one has collected.

Are you talking about James Randi and his one million dollar challenge to any supernatural or mysticism claims?
Cause 10 grand is nothing.
Anyway, I look up to Randi.

yea i jsut read about randi, there was another guy before him i guess in the 50's. Actually, wasn't it johnny carson (himself a magician) who exposed the dude who could supposedly bend spoons? Years ago on the johnny carson show, JC had the spoon bender on, and he caught the trick.

There are loads of pieces of "evidence" to support there being a "god" or "supernatural powers" there are also loads of pieces of evidence that suggest these things do not exist outside of our internal interpretations of reality. Unless god actually comes down from the heavens there is no way to conclusively offer proof of gods existence just as it will always be impossible to completely disprove the existence of god

If I had that proof, I could pump it for a LOOOOOT more money than $10,000. Think of what the church would pay. Think of what people would pay to pilgrimage to my proof. Proof of god could make you the richest person in the world if done right and letting that proof out for $10k would be idiotic.
Shit, with the right proof and the right approach, you could make yourself into a messiah and displace Jesus, Mohammed, Buddha, etc. as the primary religious figure of history. Imagine having that power and all the pussy you could pull. Imagine being able to dictate morals on a whim that'll transcend history.
Or I could hold it to myself forever and dangle the possibility that proof exists in front of the world and never divulge it just to rain on everyone's parade.

Nope.
Your inability to understand the natural explanations isn't evidence to support supernatural explanations. Nor is our inability to explain anything evidence that there could be supernatural explanations.

Nope.
That's why I put evidence in quotation marks. My point is that some people will believe and point to certain pieces of information as "evidence" whilst others will find alternative explanations for this information. It's all "evidence" to someone. You could say it's not "scientific" evidence but that's not the point as supernatural explanations transcend science (or that is what the supernatural camp will use to support their claims)

You made a declarative statement. You shouldn't expect people to infer anything from your use of quotation marks.

I don't "expect" ( ) people to do anything! However you misinterpreted my point which had the fairly clear subtext, as clarified, that scientific evidence and spiritual evidence can't refute each other due to being formed from completely different and incompatible belief systems

Yes he should. When you add quotation marks to a word/phrase it means to think about that word/phrase in a different way than you normally think about it.
