Does anyone else here like it?
I don't care much for newer stuff but 1990s county music is some of the best music there is IMO.
I like stuff like Garth Brooks, Reba, Shania Twain, The Judds, Brooks & Dunn, George Strait, Tim McGraw, LeAnn Rimes, diamond Rio, Collin Raye, Alan Jackson, Lone star, etc...
I like all kinds of music, but I find that a lot of people don't like country music for one reason or another...
So, any country fans here or am I alone on this one?

Hank Sr., Jr., and the third.
David Allen Coe
Johnny Cash
Waylon Jennings
Plenty of others that I can't even think of their names. . .
I like me some good ol' country. . . sometimes.

90's country music....a bunch of pop musicians with a country drawl and a twangy strat or tele playing pop songs disguised as country...
but...... but........
Vince Gill shreds a fucking telecaster about 1:15 in.....

old country is dope. alternative country can be pretty cool too. trad country sucks now, but it was cool in the 40's, 50's, 60's, and some of it in the 70's, but then it started getting lax.
my favorite stuff is just the old depressing country folk, of the early century, but i mean, i don't know of much recordings. i've heard like a few songs, and they sounded, well, like in perfect place. like they belonged and WERE IN a dive bar, just trying to repel the drunkards from getting into trouble with their daily grind.
it sounded like any other country but... you could feel it. it's subject matter wasn't about freedom, neither. it was about the total opposite. that and lost love, that's a big one. coming from the music of Mexico where Serenades of different sorts were popularized.
that shit was dark and depressing and even through the 20's and 30's carried on by even more contemporary music artists.
yep, country is just cool, and was manipulated to be gay at some point. alternative country, though, is a cool sub-genre of country where if you look up some bands, they aren't like typically singing aobut dumb shit like tracks and roads and stuff, and they just sing "tales" in "the country mode", if you will. a good example would be Lambchop.
great country band.

new country that doesn't suck...
Hellbound Glory
Hank Williams Records
The Ballad of Scumbag Country
Old Crow Medicine Show
Caroline
I Hear Them All
The David Rawlings Machine
Ruby (my favorite on this list)
i could go on all night... i'm a deadhead at heart, but country is where it's at for me right now... the underground guys, they're making the most honest music available in america today... the nashville pop bullshit can fuck off, but underground/outlaw country is kicking much ass lately... hellyeahfuckyeah...

I like older country as well, 90s country is just what I was brought up listening to so it takes me back to good times, newer country blows for the most part though.
And I've never really heard of alternative country, I'll check it out.

Glen Campbell was my favorite 'country' guy long ago....of course a lot of his stuff was very pop but that fucker can play a guitar and sing. He's still alive too.
In the late 60's he had a TV show, 'The Glen Cambell Hour' which was a family show, etc.
What his fans didn't know was he had the mother of all meth habits...
