Privatized insurance dating back to the invention of Blue Cross Blue Shield, which was actually started at Baylor Hospital here in Dallas, TX. Basically, BCBS was made to protect doctor's interests and payments. Mix this with the growing success of BCBS, encourages other insurers to enter the medical business. The gov't gets involved with tax incentives to companies who provided health insurance to their employees.
BCBS shifts gears, starts charging premiums based on age, gender, health status, etc., other insurers have no choice but to follow due to competition of market. Medicine and medical technology becomes more sophisticated. Cost of healthcare rises. During the 60s JFK-LBJ administration tries to reform the healthcare system. Medicare is born-gov't agrees to reimburse doctors for taking in elderly and poor. Healthcare costs continue to rise, this time at an exponential rate due to lawsuits and malpractice issues. Medicare costs rise because it's still based on the outdated model it originally was set up as, leaving little protection for fraud and abuse of the program continues, costing billions of lost tax dollars.
Since US was never able to adopt a national healthcare system, profiteering of the healthcare system took place and built a backwards system based on the risk of insuring you.
Insurance companies now dictate how a physician can practice medicine, more or less, because that's where he gets his income.

As it should be. Health care is too important to be left to the doctors

If doctors had their way, they would treat every ailment to the best of their abilities...even for patients who simply aren't worth the trouble.
Someone has to make a cost/benefit analysis and determine whether it's worth it to spend X dollars on this particular patient. Lets face it, the world would be a better place with less people, and some people are just more trouble than they're worth.

People die of disasters that are inevitable, regardless of how healthcare is reformed.
I understand your mode of reason, Enlil, but obviously it's not the correct solution considering how bad our current system is. It's essentially corporate fascism at its finest. A group of businesses decide who lives and who dies based on corporate profit.
Who is anybody to decide this?

but Enlil you would be out of a job. Most of the poeple you defend fall into that catagroy of "to much trouble". All your Clinets would be euthanized. But sitll in your world I wonder if health care would be afordible. Now to change the subject. In regards to the subject. Basically your being forced to buy health care. Insurrance that is. I think it is a grand deal for the insurance companies. I bought stock in some companies and as of Oct 1 things are good.I think I can afford health insurrance now. Big buesness at its finiest. I work in medicin I know how much stuff cost and the markup is criminal. Drug dealers on the streets don't make that much money. But I know It cost a lot of money to feel up a yhat. And hell that condo in the Cayman Islands very exspensive. All this at your exspence.

"feel up a yhat"?
What is a yhat, and why would you want to feel one up?
Research is incredibly expensive and highly speculative. For every successful drug that is developed, many fail before they're ever ready for market. The successful ones have to fund not only the research to create that drug, but also has to fund the research that went nowhere.

The elderly should get the maximum amount of care, while the younger should get minimal care. The point is to reduce population. The old are going to die soon anyway, but if we can get some of the young to die prematurely, that will have the biggest impact on the population...
Particularly if we can get them to die before they get a chance to procreate

so with this new healthcare plan. what if I brake my pelvis and im outta work for a year or two and cant pay for my health insurance?! So I get fined because i can't pay for my health even though i was and the health insurance basically put me in the position of not being able to pay it anyways? what a waste of money.

How did the insurance put you in that position? Are you alleging that the insurance company broke your pelvis?

"The elderly should get the maximum amount of care"
Well, that attitude is what creates incredible costs to the system, and unnecessary pain and suffering for the patients.
It's no mystery that doctors love to treat the elderly on Medicare, the odds of malpractice are slim (the patient is already fucked), and the procedures are very expensive (high profits and low risk).
Why spend $200-$300k on a half dead person that is going to live for another 12-24 months? It makes no sense. Doctors get rich with no risk, and the rest of the people get fucked with poor care and high costs.
