This.
Also, about as dissimilar to P. cinctulus as an elephant to a squirrel.
--------------------
Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

Well, thanks for the help identifying. I do see a similarities between the two but i see how they differ as well. I am new to hunting so I wanted to make sure before I tossed a pretty sizable harvest based on a less than positive ID. What I don't appreciate is the condescending attitude and horrible hyperbole of a metaphor.

It is in point of fact a very apt comparison.
It is neither hyperbole nor was there a metaphor.

I get it, you'll improve. He's saying that while these clusters with white gills and a ring will tend to be in Armillaria, growing on living or dead tree roots, whatever psilocybin mushroom you look for you don't want anything with white gills, and for Panaeolus cinctulus you want a habitat rich in manure, for starters. I wouldn't call squirrels hyperbole but they're fkn annoying.
You did the right thing posting.

Cemccarr: you find one of each to put side by side and you will see what I mean more dramatically, but as stated, they are not similar in habitat or habit.
They have spores of opposite color.
The taxanomically significant differences are as great as the similarities.
Before long, you'll see that and get a nice chuckle.

It is true; Armillaria genus is considered by many tens of people as the Elephant mushrooms, and likewise Panaeolus are commonly by .00000002 percent at least, as "rodes", short for Rodentia.

Hahaha.
Do you see; that is hyperbole. Pretty good hyperbole at that.

It was an un-good litote. In fact, it wasn't a litote at all!
