Hey there looking for some feed back. I have never grown oyster mushrooms i do however have tons of experience with the magic side . i am looking for some ideas and comments...
My set up http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Large-Greenhouse-Hot-20X10X7-Walk-In-Outdoor-Plant-Gardening-Green-House-/251340279707?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&nma=true&si=0mPgqPvBsN2I1f4HENglpm2Skaw%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
green house 20 feet long 10 feet long 7 feet tall .
1.Thermostat with plug in .
2.Humidistat with plug in .
3. 2 Pond foggers in a Clear tub i had left over from previous grows. They are attached to the humidistat set at 90% humidity ....its highest setting... with a fan attached to the tub to blow the humidity around . blow the humidity around.
4. Turkey fryer propane burner . 5. 55 gallon bucket 6. Hoist with chain and pully above the 55 gallon drum and it all sits on concrete slab floor i made from burying cinderblocks . 7. work table steel from a chef friend of mine . 8. radiator style house heater
Doing the initial hook up of everything will check in to let you know if the levels fold humidity and temp ... now AIR exchange does have me stumped . Do any of you have a suggestion as to what fan to use for my 150 square foot geen house ???
I bought spawn 10 pounds of sawdust spawn , to my understanding you don't need alot of spawn for straw , 30 % of the weight is this correct? so how many straw bails could i use?
I cannot find the tube style hanging bags for oyster mushrooms online so i will be using clear garbage bags .
I was curious what my yield could be with this set up in a 150 square foot fruiting chamber..? i Know that it depends on a number of variables i am looking to set a realistic goal . I have my first customer that wants to buy 40- 60 pounds a week and i am just trying to be able to fill that order .
is there anything i am missing ? lights are two 2 foot T5 5 bulb light fixture .

I'm following this thread with interest.
The pond foggers idea looks nice.

I recently posted this link on How to Build a 10x21 PVC Hoophouse that might be of some help.
You might also look at starting with lime pasteurization instead of going the hot water route. It's a lot cheaper! Here are a few links to read:

Thank you ! for the feed back !!! Setting it all up today will post pics ...today be patient ..
as far as the PVC one , I already got this metal framed one for 200 bucks even all in all it was $580 to start up
lime pasteurization looks interesting.
is it true that i can spawn to straw in an open air environment without worry of contaminants ??

Please don't bump your thread in less than 24 hours.
For that greenhouse, I'd get some shade cloth over it for temperature control and just use a water hose for humidity by spraying the ground. You could get a local gravel hauler to bring you a truckload of washed rock, or even driveway gravel for the floor.
Remember, the humidity that matters is not the RH of the air, but the humidity at the pinning surface of the substrate. By spraying your substrates a few times daily you'll have more oysters than you can pick if temps are right. RR

I apologize RR . do you know where you can get the long plastic bags that are like tube style ? Or do you just use regular clear trash bags ?

I get it on rolls from uline. The 16" gives you roughly a 10" diameter straw log. That link is for 4 mil. If you're hanging them vertically from the ceiling, use 6 mil. RR

GL skuzzy! 60 lbs a week is a sweet gig. since you have been working with the magic fungi i suspect you have can produce grain spawn?
if you pasteurize with lime there is no need to readjust the ph when working with oysters.

You have to build a table like that, but TBH not sure why you would want to unless you have another person handy. I built mine like this:

The funnel is a ventilation adapter. Mix on the table and sweep into the funnel straight into the tube.

Ummm ill be honest the first bags went sour back to the drawing board !
soaked a bale of wheat straw 24 hours in vats and then i put it in a lot of swimmer nylon bags. I then heated water in a 55 gallon drum to 160 deg F then put the straw in and cut the heat off and threw a blanket over the drum to let cool for 2 hrs . When 2 hrs are over the bag was removed taken inside and set in a shower to drain and cool a bit say..... an hour . Then i take the bag and go in to the grow room where i dump the straw into a sterilized tub to catch excess water spread it out on the mixing table sanitized with rubbing alcohol . I mixed 12 pounds of sawdust spawn to 1 bail of straw then i divided it up into 7 55 gallon clear trash bags, tied and left to sit the first 5 days i forgot the damn breathing holes dir dir dir , tried to fix it but i see no signs of growth ,,,,some don't smell but still no growth.

Bummer. I recently did that, but it was overnight and they kind of bounced back. But you suffocated the mycelium. Don't worry about being sterile. Cause you're not in open air. With a spawn rate that high, almost 35% if you've got square bales, you should have no trouble next time. I do the same rate and get full colonization in about 6-10 days depending on the species.

If you don't use a flow hood or still air box, it's considered open-air, ie; where any random floating spore can get all up in your business
Some things are OK to do in open air, some are not.

Yes, it's ok with oyster and straw (assuming you're not supplementing the straw which you're probably not). It's when you start supplementing (with bran, etc) that you can't do open air anymore.
