I found this recipe on erowid. I've never done this before but I thought I'd try and help out.
Quote:
1. boil an amount of water you don't mind drinking once it tastes like shit (because it will). 2. add a few crushed up vitamin c pills or lemon juice (this adds acidity to the water all though I am not sure this is neccessary) 3. add your mushies 4. boil for 15 minutes 5. for the last three minutes of boiling add a tea bag to cover up the taste of the shrooms. 6. strain mixture; discard mushies. 7. let cool and add a large amount of sugar. 8. drink it down

don't be too hasty here, slow down

You can also dehydarate them and save for later. That's what I do. When you are ready to use them, you can still make a tea out of the dehydrated caps, or cook them in a dish. I like adding them to eggs. One of these days, ill cook a fresh cap in a dish and try it that way.

For food, it is best to boil them, then replace the water and boil again.

You gotta try just frying up a fresh cap in olive oil. Salt it a little. Damn its tasty and you will certainly be one UP.

Thanks all, let's see if I can combine all your recipes into a master mix. I've tried boiling the amanitas for 15 minutes before but it didn't work, do they have to be dry and does the water temp have to be high?

Fresh Amanita if your frying them. If you are making a tea I would use cracker dry Amanita. It takes about an hour or two to get them dry in an oven around 170~ degrees with the door cracked open. You could also do an extraction.

Boil for 10 minutes, with a little salt... Once done... Through out water and mushrooms, have a beer instead
Will enjoy it more....

i know for psilocybe actives you need to dehydrate them slowly otherwise you kill the magic. you want to dry them with a fan over a few days, nice and slow because if you use an electric dehydrator itll kill the magic
denno if thats true for the fly agaric though because the active property is different

Heat is actually needed to convert the ibonetic acid (spelling) into muscimol with fly agarics. Some say you can eat them raw but I feel as though it's asking for a tummy ache. Not to mention a potential mouth full of maggots.
