Too Scared To Eat, Probably Not Active

Two Species are displayed here. Both found off of the Pacific coast in Oregon.
Species #1:

Habitat: I picked these on a mountain side facing the Pacific Ocean in Oregon. I was not too terribly high in altitude but was in heavy forest with lots of coniferous deadfall, needles, moss, stumps, etc. Wasn't the best weather, it had rained heavily without much respite when I went out. Was very wet.
Gills: The gills are a tan color and turn brown upon dessication
Stem: On most adult specimens the stem is between 4'-6'. Long, sinnous, hollow. Does not bruise blue from what I can tell. Turns dark upon bruising.
Cap: Cap is saucer like and slimey. Orangish brown with a large dark spot in the middle with a bit of a nub there too. Most are about 2.5" to 3".
Spore print color: I began dessication before I knew ID requests need spore print. It's been a day and many are already quite stiff and dry on the outside (I used a crap ton of desiccant.) If it's not too late I can try to take one by rehydrating a cap. Sorry! I know it's a pain without a spore print.
Bruising: It bruises a dark color, but it doesnt seem blue to me. A darker shade of tan/white than its original color but it gets much darker upon sitting.
Other information: I didn't take pictures of species #1 because my phone ran out of batteries when I was in the woods. Then I got super busy trying to set them up for dessication when I still believed they were active. So I didn't get good pics of them.
Species #2:

Habitat: I picked these on a mountain side facing the Pacific Ocean in Oregon. I was not too terribly high in altitude but was in heavy forest with lots of coniferous deadfall, needles, moss, stumps, etc. Wasn't the best weather, it had rained heavily without much respite when I went out. Was very wet.
Gills: The gills are white.
Stem: The stem is a very white color about 1-2" long on most specimens. On many it cuved slightly as it grew out of the sides of mounds of dead tree and plant matter.
Cap: Cap is bright orange. I would say saucer shaped-ish? Turns a kind of brown when bruised. Also, was slimey.
Bruising: It just turns a bit tan where it is bruised. No possiblity of blue whatsoever. Doesnt get very dark.
Other information: I did get a few pics of species #2 before it was picked. They sat in the bottom of the bag I had so they took the brunt of the bruising as I picked throughout the day.

Thanks you guys. It's as I feared. Guess I wasted my time trying to dry them out.

Please don't eat them. Some Cortinarius contain orellanin, not a pretty way to die.

I tossed them all. Lesson learned. Thank you guys very much, I appreciate you all saving my life. I can't say I would've probably eaten any without any positive identification, especially after I got home and compared them to pictures online and couldn't see enough similarities, but still...I appreciate all of the input.
Spent a whole day out in the woods. Took pictures of almost any mushrooms I saw until my camera ran out of batteries. I probably passed up some active ones I just didnt do enough research into what is out there. I was so set on trying to find some Azures or Cyans that I just ignored everything else. Next time I'll make sure to do my research and have some references on hand so I don't have to store it all in my brain.

Yeah. Most of these were in one monster patch in about a 40 or 50 square foot area. I thought I had found the holy grail of...well, something tasty. In my dreams I thought maybe I wouldn't have to mushroom hunt for the rest of the year or something.
I am trying not to feel completely dejected over the experience and tell myself I'll go out and try again, especially since conditions weren't great for fruiting when I went out, but I am strongly considering just making my own now since I have 3 spore syringes (Ecuador, Golden Teacher, and umm...Treasure Coast maybe? I forget. All Cubensis). And it is a decent drive to get out to the coast so when I spend the time and money to travel out there and don't find anything I just feel bummed.

I wouldn't feel dejected. The chances of going out and finding something active for the first time without really knowing about what you're looking for is pretty miniscule at best. As for saving your life, well you did that yourself by coming here.

A good thing to look for is the blueing. All the wood lovers (cyanescens, stuntzii, azurescens, etc) will all bruise blue very obviously after a few minutes, especially young ones and around the stem and the edge of the cap, where damaged. If you have to wonder whether it's blue bruising or not, then it's not, keep looking.

Thanks you guys. Such a great community! I posted a thread with the pics of the other fungus I saw along the way just for SnG.
