Well my mom has been a Qi-Gong practitioner for many many years, 4 hours twice a week every week, plus courses, camps and so on. I've had a pretty good chance to notice the physical and psychological effects, and they were NOT leaning towards the kind of cheap showmanship and begging for praise that you display in this thread.

I've also been to a couple of courses and gatherings with her club, so my own experience and practice was limited, however I have had the chance to interact with many long time practitioners and you seem very superficial and attention-seeking by comparison. This leads me to believe that you don't have a group that shares this particular interest, that you can meet and practice with regularly, thus you ended up feeling needy and insecure about this, looking for confirmation and validation in this lame thread. Look at me I can make goosebumps wow ain't I awesome isn't my Chi utterly amazing?  Well no, not really.

If it's internal alchemy, emphasis on internal, you should probably do it and wait for others to notice the result, not come here starting tabloid-like threads trying to wow people with completely irrelevant accomplishments. If you say, put in your long years of training and can then throw a needle through glass with your bare hand, or if you can do tummo and heat up icy sheets on your bare skin then yeah, come here and talk about it all you want. Goosebumps control is completely irrelevant. If there's any real Qi-Gong practitioners reading this crappy thread they probably cringe in embarrassment

Qi Qong isn't necessarily internal alchemy, I don't really practice qi qong per-say, it is something different.

Sure she does . . .

Sounds like your saying more about yourself than you are me . .

Funny guy.

What is better evidence for Chi than ASMR?

Do you think lighting things on fire with chi is really evidence?

Let me explain to you how scientific naming, or nomenclature works.

The first to discover something gets to name it, if it has already been existence prior to ASMR we use the name that was prior to it, quit simple really.

And what do you know, there is already a name for it and it has been called Tian Qi by the chineese for quite a long time, I'm working on determining if the Hindu's specified it before the Chinese at the moment, but I bet MTG may know.

I mean that the videos show no evidence of chi, or anything non-physical, at all.

What you did in the video is no more remarkable than many other physical abilities humans have that have been explained by science. It seems like you're trying to gain some sort of undeserved reputation as a mystic, by posting videos which gullible people will misinterpret.

ASMR is really chi. Did you read the thread?

And no, science has not explained ASMR, it is being researched still, as maybe you should do.

IE; ASMR is evidence of Qi and Prana. (The best legit evidence we have.)

The whole thing? No, why would that be necessary to comment on a 40 second video which is supposed to provide evidence of chi?

I'd love to see a reputable source which confirms that ASMR is "really chi," as everything I've found on it claims that it either doesn't exist or is nearly impossible to study. Your claim that it's "really chi" seems very difficult to substantiate. If you can't substantiate your claims with evidence, you're in the wrong forum.

Science hasn't yet explained something, therefore it's definitely supernatural!

Science hasn't yet explained how cats purr, do you believe that it's some sort of supernatural energy force?

It's in the descriptions, all you need is a bit of logic to correlate it. No need for a source, use your mind.

It turns out that cats have special wiring! The wiring travels from the brain to the muscles in the voice box, and this wiring is able to vibrate the muscles so that they act as a valve for air flowing past the voice box. The muscles work both during inhalation and exhalation, which creates the impression that cats can purr continuously. The air passes through the valve, which opens and closes rapidly to create the purring sound.

Qi Qong isn't necessarily internal alchemy

 Way to insult one of the most ancient and complex Chinese traditions, still very much in use to this day, and also a great number of lifelong practitioners, most of them with far more to show in terms of real life results than your goosebumps. Well done

Have you even stepped into a Qi-Gong class, ever?

Quote:

I don't really practice qi qong per-say, it is something different.

What exactly? In fact what do you practice, and how many months and years have you been at it? How many thousands of hours? And what, other than ridiculous goosebumps, does your system offer as evidence of ANYTHING having taken place? I assume you don't have much else to show at this time, or you would have shown it by now.

Just for comparison, Qi-Gong, as used in various martial arts and meditative traditions can actually show amazing feats of human performance, like tummo, throwing needles through glass by hand, all manner of hardening otherwise weak points like the throat or abdomen, until they're able to take significant punishment. Things your average nerd will not be able to do on a regular Tuesday, because they all take dedicated, persistent long hard training to master. These feats come on top of the good health, long life and peaceful mind of the practitioners.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, and so far your thread only has goosebumps.
:callingbullshit:

Quote:

Sure she does . . .

Sure she does what? Go to Qi-Gong practice for several years, and reaping the long term health benefits? Yeah she does actually. Strange as it may seem to you, since you're a beginner, people really do this stuff in real life, keeping it up for years and years once they've found a stable group with the shared interest. That's the point of a group and more accomplished instructor, to remind you that you're not quite the Buddha yet, there's a lot still to learn, and to prevent you from starting ridiculous threads, thinking that your goosebumps are a freakin' miracle.

I'm pretty sure you're correct, but the OP started another thread with all the same dash, panache, outright hubris and shifty arguments (arguments where he keeps redefining his definitions) and unverifiable claims as this one.  That one*, was started in August and for some inexplicable reason, is still going on.

So on the basis of the duration of the thread, the first* one would be a strong contender, since it's still alive in this month.

But this one, with it's extra dose of hubris gets my vote.

I practice Internal Alchemy. There are tons of names for it, call it whatever you want.

Different fingers pointing at the same things.

Different delivery methods but the same phenomena.

What does your mom have to say about my video and Qi?

Spacerific, I bet you she said "I told you so."

I resent that remark that it only has goosebumps, because there is a lot of logical evidence as well, including ASMR researching the phenomena, but calling it something else, which is not scientifically accurate.

Because as I said, there is and has been a name for it for millennia.
