Could I use part of a jar if there is bacterial contamination in the bottom?

I've got a few jars which have health mycilium on top, but the bottom is showing signs of bacterial contamination and seems to have stalled colonization due to it. Could I flame sterilize a spoon and just scoop out the top of it to use for spawn or would the bacteria have grown up into already colonized grain?
These were all from a g2g transfer btw so either the jars were improperly sterilized or most likely the bacteria was introduced in the transfer. I did not mix the spawn up after transfering it, just dumped it on top as I wanted to see how long it'd take to colonize downwards, yet it stopped about 2/3rds of the way when bacteria started to show up. Unless bacteria tends to eat its way through mycilium, which it may for all I know, then I'd assume at least the initial spawn is still good and could be scooped out, I have little reason to believe it came with them as the jars smelled fine and showed no signs before the transfer, also it's only a few jars and not all of them, if it came from the initial spawn I'd imagine all the jars would be infected. The reason I want to use them however is because it's enough for two tubs, so worst case I lose a brick of coir in trying to fruit this so if there's a chance it might work I'm not really out much in trying.

I would give it a shot if you have nothing to lose. If you don't have any other mycellium tho I would throw a couple pieces of the clean grain onto agar and then do a few agar transfers to make sure you have a clean culture again.
My experience with bacteria is that you can get something out of it but it will be a shitty yield and starts fruiting early in some cases. Let us know what you end up doing and how it turns out!

I've thought about transfering it to agar, but it's about a 2 month old culture at this point having gone through I believe at least 3, maybe 4 g2g transfers. Do you think it'd still be viable if stretched out to agar? I don't have any other cultures to work from (besides these clean looking jars otherwise mentioned which are just as old) so I was hoping to grab a spore print once either of these fruits. An agar plate would be better to work with however.
