Dose anyone over 40 regually do LSD?
Just wondering as soon many ppl say they don't do psychedelics anymore as they are to old. I'm over 30 and still enjoy regular sessions.
What about those over 70 or 80 even...bet that must be one hell of a trip at that age...lol

I've met a couple older trippers. Like, late 40s folks.
I don't really see myself stopping any time soon, but ya never know.

I'm closing 50 myself, and I don't see any reason to stop so far. Albert Hoffman did LSD when he was over 100 anyway

You are never too old if you still have fun doing it.

I'll be 50 in a couple weeks.
I tripped a lot in my teens an early 20's, then tapered off of the psychs for 3 decades in order to build a life - you know, career, wife, kids, etc.. Then I got back into it.
Tripping was definitely different when I was a youngster. At this age I have decades of life experience under my belt. Stuff I couldn't possibly have known when I was, say 16-22 years old. Its like back then, my mind was a small room with some magazines on the table. Now my mind is a huge library filled with books I love and that I've read cover to cover. It's a much different place to trip.

I am over 50... But don't do LSD... Mushrooms, DMT and cactus though For various reasons, I don't trip often right now.... Comes in waves.. :-)
I believe the trips are better being older. I know myself better (though always learning), don't worry about money issues or college, have a comfortable life style, help others, etc. really just in a different place than I was at 20...

Actually, I think he may have been in his 90's. I can't seem to find where it was I read it, I've skimmed through a few books and googled it, all I can find is an interview from '76 in which he said the last of his 15 experiments was in 1970, so he would have been 64 years old. However I'm almost certain that I once read something about him taking LSD for the last time in more recent years, before his death.
Can't be sure about that, but your point remains true. Who's to say someone is too old to take another trip.

My wife and I both still trip in our 40's and have friends in their 60's who still enjoy psychedelics. I don't think you ever really get too old to enjoy it, although life's responsibilities do make it less frequent than when I was 20.

Well put Universe and Harry...I'm glad to see that there are some other young trippers here ...young 50's Truth is...there was a long period of time where psychs were simply not in my circle...alot of the other shit drugs....alcohol, cocaine and opiates were. Nearly killed myself with that shit. I became more spiritual after I stopped using those chems and read of a study by Johns Hopkins concerning psilocybin and spirituality a few years ago. I then decided to try my hand at growing so I could experiment .
Successful grows gave me a means to explore my own spirituality more all thanks to The Shroomery...that is why I am a supporter here. Anyway, I have since found plenty of wild mushies, again with help from here. Traded some at a music fest for some lucy and am currently waiting for a good time to try that out. One thing that I do not do today is trip irresponsibly...I pay very close attention to what Harry and others say about set and setting and never try to get into a pissing match about high dosages. In short, I respect these substances and try to use them as tools to help me be a better person. There's a guy that I see at most of the festivals that I go to who is 56, and still loves tripping on acid. On an unrelated note, I don't think i've ever seen anyone do as much ketamine as him.

That's good to hear... Only just turned 31, but enjoying it more than I ever did. I have to say the library metaphor is a good one. I've spent the last decade reading TONS of hard science fiction (Stanislaw Lem, Hyperion, Foundation, Ian M. Banks, etc. etc. etc.) and when a trip goes into the world of pure speculation it is a truly mindboggling thing. I'm looking forward to many more walks through my twisted metalibrary!

You put it better than I ever could. I never have bad trips anymore at 39 at 16 I had them all the time. Timothy Leary didn't try LSD until his 40s. Its kind of sad LSD has reputation as young mans drug. From my old dropping buddies I count exactly one who still does it too, but he does a lot. Not too many people trip for life, some do though. And for the record I see no damage in these people some still tripping since the 60's

Tripping in general has the young persons rep. My wife always says im not a teenager anymore when i trip lol. I told her shes right, I appreciate and respect the trip now that im older. If I can aquire it when im old ill still take journeys!
