I love to bow hunt, but I really love reaching out to 300-400 yards and touching 'em with a rifle. we get like 6 months to bow hunt in my state but barely 2 weeks for modern gun.

Both! This is my first year bow hunting whitetails. I think my heart will explode if I see one within shooting range. On the other hand, I look forward to firearms season like a kid does to Christmas. I really only got into bow hunting this year to extend my season, 9/15 - 12/31 archery vs. 11/3 - 11/18 firearms, of course now I'm an addict.

I know this is a month old, but considering the age of the posts I've looked at in this section of the shroomery, its still fairly new lol.
OK... I love bow hunting over rifle any day. My dad and brothers got me into it. But due to loosing so much public land to hunt, my brothers starting families, my dad working all the time and injuring his shoulder at work and never being able to pull his bow back again, its pretty much just me now.
So I haven't gone bow hunting in 2 years now. I've been stuck to going rifle hunting cause that's what my dad and brothers do. I don't mind it, its still really fun, but I'd rather be bow hunting.
About 2 years ago my dad and brothers went muzzle loading and have been since. I just want to bow hunt haha. But this year I didn't get anything rifle hunting so I'm going to probably just use my dads muzzle loader and go with my brothers.
Bow season here(minnesota is like 4 months, rifle is 9 days, and muzzle is 16 days. But varies from zone to zone on the dates and even time the season is open.

I prefer gun hunting, I like moving around while hunting, and it's pretty hard to hit a moving deer with an arrow.
I enjoy bow hunting as well, just not as much though.

I didn't vote because this poll is invalid. the only big game left in north America is wild bore some reaching over 1000 lbs. not may bows capable of taking a large one. deer is not big game, medium I would say. reaching around 300 lbs tops. I myself prefer using an air rifle to hunt small game and could go either way with deer. bow is more of a challenge so I will try but you better bet if my limit isn't filled by the time gun season comes in im not fucking with a bow. its time to put meat in the freezer
I should also mention rifles are not allowed in this state except for certain pistol round shooters. slug barrel shot guns and muzzle loaders are the preferred guns but I use a 44 mag rifle myself. not going to hit much out past 100 yds, you can rarely even see that far anyway
