Habitat: Found in the pacific northwest (washingotn state) (port angeles) off the trail in the woods (Hollywood trail) in some wood chips not positive what kind.
Are these edible or can I eat them and trip? If so whats the best way to go about? What would dose be? I don't have much information besides the fact that they were 6-10 cm tall (largest ones about an inch tall) I had my daughter with me so I couldn't go and grab one for an example.. I was also walking dogs and for some reason they wouldn't get off the trail!!! Pissed me the heck off haha damn puppy. 2 year old golden retriever. That's besides the point. Thank you very much for the id!!! Peace and love guys!

I'd call it Tubaria furfuracea.

Probably want to figure out what you are searcher for... What mushroom species Read up on those species habitats... Where do they grow and on what Then go hunt... Have better luck
Woods are a good place this time of year to find eatable... Rarer to find actives there
Lots of good resources on this website Species: http://www.shroomery.org/12230/Psilocybin-Species FAQ for starting to hunt: http://www.shroomery.org/12225/Starting-Out
Worse day hunting mushrooms is better than any day in the office
Good hunting!

Oh, how I miss that area.
Keep it up and you will find all your heart desires. That area is prime for so many edible species that it impressed me more than most sections of the coastal northwest have.
It also boasts a large diversity of actives and is in general swarming with mushrooms of every sort to look at, study and photograph.
--------------------
Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.
