About a week or two ago the plants began to look like this... I have checked for bugs, could not see any. There was a cold day but it has been warm since. Other plants surrounding the area (such as weeds and my coffee) have also developed similar leaves. A salvia plant on the other side of the garden has also developed these leaves and no plants in between have... Could it be a virus? I have asked a few people but they are unsure, anybody know please let me know

Edit: i have just noticed it is on a passion fruit vine, orange tree and other shrubs in the garden. Near certain it is a virus or viriod

i'd imagine if other plants are the same it'l be some kind of virus or bugs, but since you said you haven't found any then probably virus. if you're taking salvia treat that shit with respect, it is a crazy and (for me) an unpleasant drug peace:)

I would suggest some kind of fungal infection, rather than a virus. The "cold snap" may have triggered it.

I took some samples of plants that have it into the plant labs. Its leaf curl and can be caused by fungus or viruses. Half of the plants were showing symptoms of the fungal leaf curl, the other half did not. I am assuming it is fungal. I have cut all leaves and branches off the plants and they are now sprouting new unaffected (from what i can see so far)growth. SxC

I would of suggested some type of stress from pests, I haven't observed this particular condition before. Nice that you have access to a lab to find out exactly what it was. Salvia does do some weird stuff, crinkled leaves like your plants are showing, but they usually always come right and grow out normally. If all goes bad then you know what to do.

Yeah it was the other plants in the garden all showing the same disease that freaked me out. Lucky or i would have lost all the plants as instead of the whole leaf curling, the whole plant (stem) would have too!
