I don't have kids, maybe later in life, so these words of mine honestly may change when it comes to that time.
It would depend entirely on how "mature" my kid was and where & what they had going on in their life/path. As well as if I felt he/she was at a point in their life that they could potentially benefit from a mild psychedelic experience, as well as at a point where they could deal with the possibility of having a rough experience. If I had to throw out a number, no younger than 12, likely around 16 to 18. With that said, I'd prefer they don't smoke cannabis or drink alcohol until they were 18.
It wouldn't be, "Here kid, go to your room and eat these mushrooms" . By the time I feel that they're ready for the experience, if they were curious and wanted to in the first place, they will already have a frame work of sorts on how to utilize psychedelics, plants/herbs, & drugs if they want to.
It would likely be a camping trip way out in the woods with just the wife, the kid(s) and I...1g to 1.5g of mushrooms.
I'm going to be extremely open with my kids, age appropriate in regards to what I'm open with them about, but very open. I'm not going to force knowledge of drugs down their throat, but if they ask questions I will answer honestly...
And when it comes time, just like the ol' topic of the birds & bees, once they get around 10 to 12 years old I'll have straight forward conversation with them in regards to using drugs responsibly and safely. Explaining things such as proper dosage, keeping things in moderation, what not to mix, testing of drugs, etc...and if they really want to try something, to come to me first.
On the flip side, I'll have to talk to my kids and explain to them they can't speak out too much in regards to my openness of drug talk/education. (Last thing I'd need is the kids telling their friends who tell their parents, or teachers, etc..getting CPA and all that non-sense involved)
I see absolutely nothing wrong with giving my teenager kid a small amount of mushrooms if they wanted to do so under my supervision out in the woods somewhere.
