Sweet, I love STL still, great town. I lived in Chesterfield most of the time, but stayed downtown near the loop/U-City for a few months here and there.

I uploaded the pic same as I always do, from my desktop to my pics folder, clicked on the URL to copy and paste... Weird. Never mind, check out the St. Peter's stuff if you ever come across it, well worth trying. We are spoiled for good beer over here, lot of breweries have been making stuff the same way for hundreds of years.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for any of those new STL brews, that place still feels like home and it's over 15 years since I lived there full-time.

I'll be keeping an eye out, there's a couple places that have a bunch of imports.

I lived in U-city and Webster for a bit when I was in school, but I have a home on the east side (IL) now up on the bluff.
Love having my space  while still being close to the city.

It really is a homey city, I enjoyed living other places but it feels homier than anywhere else.
Then again, I was born and raised here :tongue2:

The loop gets better every year, it seems
Great culture there.

Why is Phred allowed to be a moderator?  He doesn't ban his pet posters when they deserve it.

Surprised no one has mentioned the green fairy.. Is real Absinthe legal in the US??

If you want the full absinthe experience here in the states (the main active ingredient, wormwood, is illegal here-- there are a few municipalities that are allowed to sell a limited version). That said, you can achieve the same results with the following ingredients:

1) A bag of candy flavored with star anise (licorice candy will work nicely)
2) A strong friend, preferably with a strong arm
3) A metal pipe no thinner than your thigh
4) Gauze, +/- life insurance

:lolsy:

I have never had Absinthe that tasted of anise.. I have had several varieties from the Czech Republic with high Wormwood content which are overproof (70%+) strength. Usually it just tastes like herbal fire, kinda nasty, but not really similar to anything else I have tasted..
