Habitat: Growing in leaves by a stream bank mostly populated by pine trees
Gills: White possibly pores or still covered by veil
Stem: Around 1 inch thick
Cap: White fading to brown, hole in center
Other information: It seemed as though the brown ones were a little bit larger

Actually I just recently found a few Phallus ravenelii eggs in the yard and decided it might be worthwhile to eat them. I peeled of the papery outer covering and the slime layer, sliced it up and cooked it in butter. They're supposed to be a delicacy but meh. They sort of taste like water chestnuts except a little chewier. Maybe if you threw them in stir fry. Seriously, don't do it after the egg stage because they smell super nasty when they grow up.

Didn't mean to jack your thread. (rimshot)
