Woodland psilocybe
    #18948827 - 10/08/13 10:03 AM (10 years, 4 months ago)

After 14 years of persistent searching, we have finally found a creature of myths and legends, deep in the forests of misty hills.
I believe it's p. bohemica/serbica, but didn't do any microscopy yet.

Don't hijack the thread please, and you'd be better posting in the contamination forum.

What part of the world are you in, OP??

 Lovely finds, I stumbled across several hundred A. Muscaria and a few A. Pantherina today, got hundreds of pictures, I love this time of year.

14 years? Patience wins!

Good Work CBuB!!! You got blessed with finding a unique and FN Potent shroom! Definitely take prints and
send them on to someone who cares for further Id. Who knows, maybe they are a new variety or subspecies. I am very interested in learning more about these they are completely beautiful!

Patience pays off. It took me over ten years to finally find and prove the existence of an extremely rare fruiting of Copelandia Bisporus. ON top of that I ended up finding them in two separate towns and being 2 out of only three documented findings in the USA! Not trying to boast just reinforcing patience and endurance.

And Nexxone... if you live west of the Cascades and you're not finding psillies I dont know what to tell you. Cyans and Subbalteatus and Libbs are plentiful.
Try,
#1 Mulched garden beds with Alder not cedar in parks and gardens along the edges fo the grass for Cyans October to December depending on the rain and temperatures.
#2 for Libbs, find tufts of taller grass in cow pastures. Same time of year as Cyans.
#3 for Panaeolus Subbalteatus or Cinctulus look in any lawn and look for gray or black gills, throw away brown gilled ones as they are the almost identical twin Panaelous foenisecii. Or go to a farm that has manure mixed with hay for composting piles and you will almost definitely find large fruiting Pan Cinctulus.

Sorry for the tangent just thought it would help someone. All the info is here, and all the experience is out there on your feet. Just relax and go looking and you will find them.

Frizz

Get the stem butts in some woodchips in a park or something quick and you might get them forever .
