Pretty much everything should be evaporated before you mist again.
But a SGFC isn't meant for a closet, it works off the air flow in a room, a closet isn't big enough to give it what it needs to work right.

It's either the closet or the room with a humidifier running 24/7 about six feet away from it. I read that a closet with decent space around the fc is preferable to a room with heavy air currents.
I will back off on misting some while keeping my RH higher and see how it goes.

It doesn't look like trich at all IMO. If you want to use a SGFC in a closet this might be the one and only case in which a small fan might help but you would probably have to buffer the air flow from being direct on the SGFC somehow. I would get someone else's opinion on that. Like said above though I would mist after all the droplets are gone. Sounds like the airflow is keeping your FAE/RH balance off being that it's in a closet. It should evaporate quicker than that so you would be misting more often, I have a big cake in a SGFC(see link in sig) it's not in a tray but I mist it 3-4 times a day because it drys, but it's way less of a heavy misting than I would give a cake. I only find myself lightly spritzing since the bulk cake acts differently than a verm-rolled cake.
