Will mushrooms ever permanentely affect you

I have had about 5 mushroom trips spaced over the course of about 3 years. I was wondering, if I were to ever reach the point of 1000 trips, would my brain some how be permanently changed forever??
As in thinking different, perceiving things differently, the way I act, etc..
Have any of you personally experienced this or heard of this happening?

Your brain is changed forever when you want it to be and make it happen. Mushrooms can help with the first part.

Yeah I'm gonna have to go with everyone else on this. If your mind didn't change permanently the first time you tripped then you did something wrong. As far as your brain? HPPD can occur (Hallucinatory Persisting Perception Disorder). I've heard of serious cases. It's caused by irresponsibly frequent tripping for long periods of time. I'd say if you tripped a thousand times over the course of say 3 or 4 years (that would mean trippin' erry day, mind you) then you would almost certainly get HPPD. 99 times out of a hundred it's not serious or even bothersome, and rarely persistent for the long haul. I had a mild case of HPPD after my hay-days which persisted for about a year but slowly went away. I enjoyed it, actually. to this day I can still force visual patterns on walls and floors and see swirls in carpets if I feel like it, but it's not something that just happens.

yes. ive noticed a big change in the way i think and feel. im way more open to appreciating things down to a very small detail, to the amount of work thats put in to produce even just a news paper. when i look at a magazine i recognize all the steps that were taken to produce it. but then again im told quite often that im really bad about over analyzing. but my overall answer to your question is yes when used moderately mushrooms do change you for good. but its all on you to determine if that change is a good or positive thing. DeeBee is right though, you have the option to say whenever you want that this is not how its supposed to be and change what it is you believe needs to be changed. ive noticed myself that when i do any kind of tryptamines spaced apart about 6 months to a year that i very much so do change, for a long period of time. but its very easy to get stuck in the quick sand of working vs. reality. so my question is do you want any kind of change?

Change in what way? I am guessing you mean in a negative way... Not like super powers or penis growth... :-)
Over 30 plus years... No way of knowing how many trips (probably less than 1000 though) ... Doesn't seem to have a negative impact on me or my life...
On the contrary... Has helped me through some rough shit
My belief... People with problems after psychedelics had problems before psychedelics
Peace

It will most certainly change you. In what way depends what you choose to learn from the experience
