ID Help: Liberty Caps?
    #18947648 - 10/08/13 12:08 AM (10 years, 3 months ago)

Habitat:
Found in pasture, where horses/cows have grazed for years.  In wet, grassy area.

Outside Portland, Oregon

Gills:
see pic

Stem:
see pic

Cap:
see pic

Spore print color:
Blackish

Bruising:
none noticed

First timer here.  Spent hours researching on the net, and Liberty Caps seems like the best identification.

Not the typical looking pointed cap, but I've seen a lot of "Variant" pics that look just like these.

The more I look, and info I find, this doesn't seem like liberty caps.  Plus I guess the spore print is way off.

Well this can still be a learning lesson:  Can anyone ID these mushrooms?

It's an inky/Coprinoid mushroom.  I would say a Parasola sp. to be somewhat specific.

Yea, its either Parasola or Coprinellus sect. Setulosi.  I'm leaning towards Parasola seeing that glabrous cap and stipe.
