Really? I didn't hear about that. I mean it's a great thing for the future, but I feel like the NBA should never had had a lottery system in the first place.
It sure is fishy considering what we've seen with Cleveland the past few years.
Are they just going to get rid of the lotto altogether, or change the way it works? The draft just needs to be simple and straight up.
Worst regular season record gets 1st pick. Going down to the 14th team. After that it should depend on how far you make it into the playoffs with tiebreakers based on regular season records.

Yea I know brother. I don't mind the lecture.
I appreciate you looking out. I don't feel the need to drink so to say, I think that it's so hard just because I can't turn on my tv, go to any pharmacy or supermarket without having alcohol shoved in my face.
When I decided to quit opiates. The withdrawals were sure hell, but I just cut everyone out of my life that sold or partook in them. With those people out of the way, I couldn't get high no matter how much I was fiending for the drug ya know?

I was wondering how they were going to change the lottery system too. They used to go with no lottery and just use worst records, but the urge to cheat to lose for 1st or 2nd pick was too great.
They switched over to various weighted lottery systems, which have aroused a lot of suspicion because teams the teams with slight odds of winning have won too often.
Statistical probabilities are not expected to pan out over the short run, but irregularities have gotten a little too common to avoid arousing suspicion. They used to pick letters out of a hat and their was a theory that the Knicks letter was refrigerated so they could pick it and give NY Patrick Ewing. Then they switched over to pingpong balls, but there has always been a representative of each team in the room.

I just saw it on my phone. I think it may be a preliminary story. http://nesn.com/2014/07/report-nba-submits-proposal-to-reform-draft-lottery-system/
I agree with you though lottery is fucking stupid. Cleveland is the only team to ever benefit from it anyway. Who cares if a team tanks to go #1 if you win 10 games the whole year you should get the #1 pick no matter what. Cleveland got what 6 #1 picks? that is proof they are doing something wrong anyway. #1 pick isn’t that overpowering but shit give it to who needs it.
That said I’m very happy with the jazz’s pick. Exum looks like a stud, and Hood was the biggest steal of the draft. He out played his old teammate Jabari in summer league still fell to 24 somehow. Everything worked out perfectly.

Who cares?
Lebron is worth about 10 1st first picks, and they got fucking wiggins anyway.
The teams that got fucked the hardest were Boston and LA. They got terrible picks Hard to cry for Boston or LA though.

I'd have to say Brooklyn by far had the worst picks. Meaning no 1st round picks for like 6 more years lol. They fucked up so bad assembling their "super team".
Fuck Boston, La, and Brooklyn. I used to like the nets somewhat, especially when DWill was in his prime. They lost all my respect with that sorry excuse for a team last year. Not only because of who, but because of how much money and draft picks they wasted.
oh well..
The Bobcats are starting to have a really solid squad. I just read that Lance Stephenson signed with them today.
Shit.. I mean the Hornets. Anyways, I think they'll be pretty good contenders in the East this year. I have no idea what Indiana is doing. They practically gave away Granger to us down here. Now Stephenson is gone.
I have a feeling they're going to be really bad compared to the last 2 years.

Oh well i meant out of the teams that sucked last year.
I didn’t even look at the draft outside of the top 10. Lol the bobcats wanted hayward so bad. Thats sweet he’s more valued than stephenson.

Yea. I was mostly just flipping through channels after the first 5 picks until the Heat picked. I don't know why I find the NFL draft so exciting but really don't care much about it in the NBA. It should be the other way around.
I mean..I like both sports pretty much equally. I guess there's just a lot more fanfare around the combine and draft in football.
How much did Hayward end up getting for his contract? Also just noticed Boozer signed up for free agency. It'll be interesting to see where he ends up.

Good post btw. I had never heard about the refrigerated Knicks pick. That's really interesting and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it's true.

I'm not sure how Booozer's contract works. The Bulls just gave him 16 million to go away and not count against the cap. If somebody else gives him 10 million, I don't know if the Bulls have to pay the whole 16 million too. If so being Amnestied is like the greatest thing that could ever happen to you

Well the draft isn’t as important in the NBA.
NBA doesn’t have nearly the Turnover the NFL has. Honestly i think i like Basketball more. Football’s season is just too short and drawn out.
I think 64 for 4 years. roughly 16.5 a year. Nigga be like http://nesn.com/2014/07/report-nba-submits-proposal-to-reform-draft-lottery-system/
You mean, if i half ass it all year on a shitty team ill make 4-5 more million a year than i was asking for. Shiiiit sign me up. I really like him and the jazz have stupid amounts of money right now and are worried about having to sign on some bloated contracts so they meet the minimum. I’m happy he got his payday, dude deserves it. Much less deserving people have gotten much more.

Did y'all see Adam Silver says they're considering adding a midseason tournament similar to the FA Cup to the NBA?
Goddamn, that's stupid as shit. Good Christ almighty. I know it sucks that the NBA season gets lackluster in the middle but why the fuck play a tournament in the middle? Jesus Christ. Like I would give a fuck if the Hawks won some kind of fucking tournament besides the goddamn playoffs. Fuck that's stupid.

It just pisses me off. It's like having a pre-season in the middle of the season. How the fuck could that be cool? Why would I want them to suddenly start playing a bunch of extra meaningless games? What's next? Friendlies? I mean goddamnit, doesn't watering everything down piss you off? You probably watch spring games and preseason football too. I hate that fucking worthless shit. Fucking D-league. Dicksucker league. Grapefruit league. Jesus Christ.

I wouldn't mind small tourneys. Alot like college ball. Why not people might actually give a shit during the season.

Its nothing like preseason. The games wouldn’t be meaningless at all. Its exactly what it sounds like a tournament in the middle of the season. Maybe the big guns go for it, maybe they don’t. You sure as hell know all the mid table teams would try their hardest. For example Brooklyn isn’t winning a title but they could win that. You sound like a really spoiled fan, and you are from Atlanta so that doesn’t make sense.
I totally watch summer league and go to scrimmage games. Its been awesome so far. Not a big fan of NFL preseason though.
Like I’ve said a million times NFL takes longer for me to get into. Its not really exciting or anything its just something i do on sundays to pass the time. Every year the NFL gets less and less appealing to me. Its too commercial dude. it doesn’t even feel like its about the sport being played.

Fuck that shit. NBA is about winning the Finals. Anything else is a stupid fucking distraction. What else do you want to see? An NIT tournament for teams that didn't make the playoffs? I can't believe there's any fucking respect for this idea here. If you can't see how stupid this is you need to stop watching sports.
