Yeah Westbrook is a tricky one. Containing him could be counterproductive but not containing him is also risky... I wouldn't know what to say to him if I was his coach to be honest.

(I'd probably trade him so I didn't have to deal with this dilemma)

I just know that OKC like the Dallas Cowboys should be capable of much, much more but seem to shoot themselves in the foot all too often.

There's zero comparison between the Cowboys and OKC. Zero. The Cowboys have been a .500 team for years and years now. In fact I heard on ESPN radio that since their last Superbowl (which was in the 90's), they're like exactly .500. The lose one for every game they win.

Oklahoma City has been one of the five best teams in the league for a while now and got to the Finals, plus a couple of other conference final appearances.

Zero comparison.

I just meant as far as shooting themselves in the foot by doing things we know don't work with that comparison.  Also, there are plenty of coaches who have been in championship games who went to lose their job not long after as they were only backtracking instead of taking that next step.

Ya cities like LA and New York can afford that.

OKC is a small unattractive market, Being from a small unattractive market i can tell you hold on to your assets.

Getting rid of brooks would be beyond stupid. You sound like a lakers fan

For how little you guys have had a team you are incredibly blessed to even make it to the finals. Give it time.

You can't tell me that with the way things are today that this is completely out of the ordinary.  No matter how you feel about Durant's commitment to OKC people are already speculating what will happen when his contract is up if the team continues to regress.  I'm sure they would try anything to keep KD even if that means firing Brooks, just like the Cavs did a few years ago with Mike Brown.  The fact that Brown is back in Cleveland might change that type of thinking, I don't know.

Yup thats just the nature of small market team  Durrant is just going to have to see the value of OKC. OKC is a pretty cool team IMO, don’t know anything about the city but i would love to play for a team with that us against the world mentality, and your fans are incredible.  I don’t really know what you’re talking about with Regression, last year if westbrook didn’t get hurt they would have been in contention with the spurs.

All i know is Sloan is the best thing that ever happened to Utah and if they fired him for a lack of performance :lolsy: Just look at San Antonio for the blueprints on how a small team can be successful.

Im hoping to try and see Durant in person some time this year. Love watching that dude.

OKC will be fine, as long as they can keep Westbrook and Durrant from getting poached.

EDIT: actually thinking about it we did get greedy and thats why we have sucked for the last 5 years. We sided with a pretty boy “superstar” (still love DWill though) that has never came through over an all time great, and look at what happened.
enter this guy

IF we can’t get sloan back I’m hopping they will fire this dude and jump on George Karl (who got fired very unjustly)

They regressed after the Harden trade and K-Mart didn't live up to expectations, Westbrook got hurt and all that.  I guess I am jumping the gun by assuming they have regressed again this year, but I'm worried RW and KD won't be able to come close to carrying the load with teams like the Clippers, Heat, Spurs, and Huston.  OKC had problems with Huston last year without D12, and we play the Clips tonight so I will be watching close here.  OKC had trouble with LA even when Harden was on the team.  It's still early, but I'm worried for my team.  Jalen Rose predicted that KD will eventually leave to join his good friend Harden in Huston   In this modern day predictions sometimes override what's really going on, I'm guilty of it myself here.

How are you liking Millsap and DeMarre Carroll on your team? I miss them guys on mine.

@elax i sure as fuck hope they fire corbin.

I knew we would be bad but its even worse than bad.

The Jazz are just flat out not even competing. Where is this leadership Hayward and Favors said they were gonna bring? We need it.

Its getting tough to watch already and its so early.

Bring back Jerry for fuck sake.

I can't think of all of it but the Jazz and Hawks have done some more musical chairs over the past few years.

No real opinion on Carroll. Millsap is a powerful motherfucker. The Hawks have a recent history of letting  big fuckers get away with being lazy. He needs to drive to the hole, slam it home, or pick up the foul or both.  You start watching the Hawks like two weeks before the all-star break and all those big fucks will be shooting and missing outside jumpers. Laziest fucking team in the NBA. Hopefully their new coach won't let that shit fly. Although its hard to break a 40 year tradition of shit mediocrity.

That's really why the Jazz were so crazy to side with D Will over Sloan. Run the fucking system or fuck the fuck off. No matter who the fuck you are.

Ya man, occasionally i see a millsap jersey and it makes me sad. I think the dude genuinely liked it here, too bad we couldn’t find a way to keep him. Demarre just had a heart like none other, he should be a fan favorite wherever he goes.

Lol i feel you bro. I don’t think I’ve screamed "WTF are you thinking????" so many times at a tv. I don’t even know what to think about Hayward. Im pretty sure he wants out or else he would have signed, which makes me sad because i like the dude, but i don’t think we really need him. especially if Wiggins really is the target. Seems like he is just playing for a big contract somewhere other than utah or else he would try and step up and lead. Kanter has been pissing me the hell off, and this Gobert dude is just a fucking spas.

The only thing to look forward to besides draft day for jazz fans this year, is Trey Burkes return. Hope he is a straight baller. Lord knows we’ve needed a good point guard for ages.

Pretty sure Kansas would lay some smack down on this sorry squad.

My biggest fear is that this train wreck is planned by the millers who are trying to sell the team to a bigger market. Jazz nation is a million times better than any weak ass fair-weather fan base seattle could put together.

Yeah OKC definitely fucked up by letting a superstar like James Harden go but I dont know that they could have ever afforded to pay him what he was going to demand on an open market

Jazz snagged their first win tonight :highfive: it was a nice one too. Hayward played like a fuckin champ, i take back all i said in that earlier post. In fairness so did Kanter.

I don’t think its a coincidence that Blake Griffin and Karl Malone are(were) both # 32 They have very similar games.  OKC should have won tonight. Ibaka was just a dumbass

Either way..great game.

Going to watch the Mavs vs Heat tonight.

Asik wants a trade...

I'd trade Dwight if I was Houston

They showed a stat on Inside NBA: number of games with 30+ minutes and fewer than 5 field goal attempts.

Shaq had 1 in his carreer.
Chuck had 4 in his carreer.
Dwight has 30 so far!!

30!

He just isn't aggressive.
