I know a bet. I played it throughout middle school and high school. But I don't really follow the league. I'm not a history expert on it. And frankly don't care.

Not once did I ever say I know more than you on the subject. But I do have a firm respect for the game.

Same here I miss playing. I played basketball for 8 years. Soccer for over a decade. Ran track, never played football in an organized sense but used to play with the neighborhood kids all the time. Wrestled for 8 years.

Sports are the only thing I miss about school. Lot of good memories. Next check ima buy a basketball I got a court 10 minutes away. Used to live across the street from one.

When I just needed to get away from my family for a minute or just think I'd go shoot hoops for hours on end.

I gotta agree with you man. So who rounds out your top 3 after Wade and Kobe?

It's gotta be Johnson right? And he's good, but never was and never will be a superstar.

Oh and speaking of soccer, I haven't bothered to check if someone put up a World Cup thread, so I'll just post here.

How about that Mexican keeper in today's game vs Brazil. Dude single-handedly saved Mexico from 3 goals. Crazy Sideshow Bob looking mofo.

Just my two cents on a question you asked Elax. Right now Johnson could probably smoke Wade one on one but he's fucking lazy. I mean if you go back in my posts I bitched about him so fucking much when he was with the Hawks. Dude has talent and skill dripping off of him but no fucking drive. Mid-season with the Hawks he was fucking deplorable. Those fucking long jumpers. Fuck, it still pisses me off. Right now, not historically, he's more athletic than Wade but he's not BETTER than Wade. At least, he's not better than the Wade who played against the Pacers. Wade against the Spurs? Yeah. He's better than that. But I have so much more respect for Wade. If I were a Heat fan then Wade would be like Chipper for the Braves.

Ya there is hit the back button once.

He fuckin killed it. A tie is as good as a win for mexico in that match up. I only watched the last 20 minutes. Had some huge saves.

I just click on threads. I go to other websites for Soccer, NFL, and other sports forums. I like talking about the NBA here because I don't butt raped by ignorant comments every time I mention the Heat or LBJ.

:awesomenod: Before he came along to Miami, the Heat had been a mediocre team for so long with the stars being Tim Hardaway and Alonzo Mourning. That old Heat Arena was in the middle of the worst neighborhood in Miami, and we would always get knocked out by Ewing's Knicks in the playoffs year after year.

Since 04 Wade has held the Heat on his shoulders through really bad times as well as rings. Truly a humble and talented superstar throughout his career.

It really depends on what you are calling a SG. I wanna say Steph Curry, or Westbrook but now we are back to that definition of what is a shooting guard. I was reading an article on bleacher report saying that is a dead position of old. No one plays it like it used to be played anymore. You got PG’s that are more like SG’s than SGs and SGs that are glorified forwards.

Since you brought up johnson that made me think of Livingston. Ive heard rumors about Miami trying to sign him. Dude is a straight baller.

A lot of players play quite a few roles. Westbrook could be better but he's just a ball hog. He wants all the glory. Ya he'll put up 20-30 points but also brick 10-20 shots. If theres another man open you have to have faith in your team. That's what won the spurs this championship.

Dishing it to the open man and having faith in your team. I won't be surprised if westbrook never wins a championship.

The best commentary of the whole match was “they are busy building a statue of Ochoa in Mexico City right now.”

Dude is an unsigned FA too, bet he just made himself tens of millions, and a spot on a major club today.

Yea, the definition of positions players play in the NBA has changed so drastically in the past 10 years.
Most true PG's like Dragic, Curry, and Paul could play just as well as 2 position SG's.

Nowadays teams basically run 2 line ups for offense. A small 4 guard, 1 PF/C or the "regular" line up of PG, 2 or 3 SG's and 1 or 2 big men with variations in every team depending on their aspect of playing.

It's always been all about matchups since the beginning of the game. It's just evolved so much in recent years due to the increased speed and strength of players. It's a really interesting subject which will only continue to evolve.

That is wild. I've seen some amazing saves in the past years by Cassillas, and even Cesar in club play as well as the World cup, but what the Mexican guy did today was truly unbelievable to me.

Casillas blows now.

Ive always like the bigs, and they are the guys who win you championships. Shooting will only take you so far. Thats why I can’t believe in OKC, i guess MIA now too.

I hate how everyone plays small now. My favorite line up the spurs have is Splitter and Duncan anchoring the team.

The Jazz had this weird line up they would run when they needed a surge. Spurs seem to do it too, when they have ginobili playing point. They would have Burks who is like 6’4-‘6’5 and a similar game to Dwade, run the offense. 1 big and 4 shooters.
