If you watch LBJ he carries constantly and I don't believe I've seen him called for it once.

I've noticed he does it a lot when he's running the ball full court. It usually happens when he slows down when getting close to the 3 point line.

Not singling him out as so many players do this. I just brought it up because I saw it at least 10 times during the Finals.

Every Ballhandler:lol: in the league does.

You have to spin the ball for control, and its pretty easy to let your hand drop too far and end up carrying it. I know I do it all the time.

Like i said with traveling. As long as its not egregious, its better for the game to let it slide rather than get overly analytical about everything. 3 steps on a breakaway dunk isn’t a travel. Hell 3 steps on any hammer dunk isn’t a travel, imo. Same with inbounding the ball. It offers no competitive edge and would actually take away from the game if you called it.

I remember on TNT they had a clip of a Knicks player taking like 7 steps on dunk and it didn’t get called. It was pretty funny. I think they do a segment on that actually.
I do believe they need to be strict about pivot foot movement, and sliding on the ground while possessing the ball (like in a scrum)

Carrying is when the hand goes under the "equator" of the ball, So yes, you could make a few steps and run around with ball in one hand in that way. It's a good rule and it should be called. You can do any dribble without getting your hand under the equator. Even spin dribbles.

As far as the Euroloeague goes, there is no defensive 3 seconds or illegal defense either.

Not calling traveling and carrying, extending the three point line, having a defensive 3 second rule and an illegal defense rule are all ways to increase penetration to the ring and make the game more spectaculair. There would be less dunks if it weren't for those rules.

The latest rule to add to that is of course the no charge zone (which Europe adopted).

I guess LeBitch is going to be a LeBrat about Sir Blatt

LeBron, learn your fucking place, you're not a coach, you're not a GM, you're a fucking player.

Getting all tangled up in that other shit just fucks up LeBron's game.

Are you talking about Jahlil Okafor or Emeka Okafor?

I'll assume Jahlil since he's the one just coming into the NBA. It's so difficult to tell with centers but from what I saw from him in college he has the chance to be good, not great. He's incredibly immature still with his frame (body) which will eventually fill out over the next few years.

He's also extremely slow. A center is obviously not expected to be quick out there but he's slow to the point where it could be very difficult for him to keep up with the tempo of the NBA. I just don't see him as a natural athlete.

I certainly wouldn't want him playing for the Heat.

Since I brought up the Heat just now, I'm getting really scared that Wade's not gonna stick around here. There's all these rumors of him possibly teaming back up with Lebron next season in Cleveland. If the Heat management let's that happen I can assure you I won't be attending a single game next season. :frown:

Indeed. Whiteside was one of the few bright spots last season. Really looking forward to what he does next season (if Wade doesn't leave).

I like American Rules.
Interior play is the best part of the game IMO.

Why?

He’s the best GM in the league.

Turned a lottery team into an Eastern Conference Champ.

You think Wade's gonna stick around Miami, elax?

It's looking more grim every day.

Rumor is he’s going to Cleveland right?

I also heard people saying LA. Thats what i think will happen personally.

Kobe/Wade is promising as hell even if they are both in the twilights of their careers.

Rumors are Cleveland, but I really doubt that.
It definitely feels like he's leaving, I just don't have a good idea where.
He's said many times before that he would love to play with CP3.
Shit, CP3 is his kid's goodfather and have been great friends for about a decade.

So going to LA is a strong possibility I think, but the Clippers, not the Lakers.

I didn't know Wade had a special relationship with Chris Paul. I still think he's too proud to play for Billy Crystal. Maybe the both of them will head somewhere else. Wade is a terrible investment for any team and no one likes bad investments more than the Busses. LeBron doesn't want any more to do with Wade's crippled ass.

That's a fair enough point.

The thing is I don't know if Wade's willing to take a huge pay cut to go to a team that's a contender or if he'll go anywhere as long as they pay him more than he's worth.

La is actually in a pretty strong position this offseason.

So no names and a prospect who got injured before he ever played a game, for a proven star in Demarcus Cousins for the Kings would be a dream deal for them.
Especially considering they have the 2 pick.

Everyone is talking about Frank Kaminsky to the Jazz.
Seems only natural the Jazz would draft the goofy white dude who also happens to ball out. It wouldn’t be the first time, nor the last. Honestly I’m cheering for this outcome, The team would be loaded with talent going forward. Once one of the point guards decides to grow up they should be a 7-8 seed, and they should be in the playoff hunt all year or I’m going to be so pissed.

7 year rebuild. Jesus Christ....

Phil Jackson: 'No structure, discipline' with NBA offenses - ABC

New York Knicks president Phil Jackson isn't a fan of the way the game is being played these days, and he used the NBA's biggest star -- LeBron James -- as an example of exactly what's wrong.

Jackson, in an interview with Bleacher Report from May that was published Monday, said the current "individualized" style of the NBA isn't disciplined and -- even more so -- just isn't pleasing to the eye.

"When I watch some of these playoff games, and I look at what's being run out there, as what people call an offense, it's really quite remarkable to see how far our game has fallen from a team game," Jackson told Bleacher Report. "Four guys stand around watching one guy dribble a basketball.

"I watch LeBron James, for example. He might [travel] every other time he catches the basketball if he's off the ball. He catches the ball, moves both his feet. You see it happen all the time. There's no structure, there's no discipline, there's no 'How do we play this game' type of attitude. And it goes all the way through the game. To the point where now guys don't screen -- they push guys off with their hands."

Jackson, who has 13 NBA titles to his credit -- 11 as a coach with the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers and two as a player with the Knicks -- was just using James as an example. He said the problem is widespread as teams shun structured offenses in favor of constant pick-and-roll plays.

"The game actually has some beauty to it, and we've kind of taken some of that out of it to make it individualized," Jackson told Bleacher Report. "It's a lot of who we are as a country, individualized stuff.

"... It struck me: How can we get so far away from the real truth of what we're trying to do?"

If Jackson doesn’t fix the Knicks you know he is just a more successful Eric Spoelstra.

Instead of Jackson being the common denominator in all those rings its gonna be Kobe/Jordan calibre players.
