Oh no doubt Abyss. He ain't shit now, but a few years ago he was one of the top 5 elite PG's in the league.

Absolutely. He's probably the last of the PURE point guard breed we'll see for awhile.
I used to love his flashy passes back in the day. The fake behind the back pass/layup he does is priceless. I always try to do it when I'm in the gym and fail miserably

Hell yea. It was his freakishly big/long hands that allowed him to do those crazy passes. I remember having some pretty good seats for a Heat/Celtics game in 2012 and seeing him up close in person was a trip. Just an overall weird looking human.
I play ball quite a bit here. Just pick up games at the park or gym, but anyways I try to get fancy as well with my passing, and my hands aren't big enough to pull of the no look, behind the back passes. When I attempt it the ball usually ends up going the complete opposite direction I intended lol.

Nice! One of things on my bucket list is to have floor seats at a NBA Finals game. And yeah Rondo is definitely a crazy looking specimen. He's only like 6"1 but has fuckin orangoutang arms and hands.
I didn't know there were any fellow hoopers on the shroomery. I haven't really played this winter but i'm usually pretty consistent in playing 3-4 times a week at my university gym. I plan on joining a men's league soon too.

Very nice. I've brought up playing ball in the pub a couple times and I think maybe 1 or 2 other people here actually play consistently. I'm not positive, but I think elax that posts in this thread was one of them. I've been slacking myself though due to my back being a bit fucked up for the past couple weeks. Winter in my neck of the woods is the absolute best time to play. Summer and even late spring or early fall are unbearable here due to heat and humidity.
If you're gonna play outside from May to September here you best do it early in the morning or at night.
As far as courtside seats go, I've been lucky to have sat courtside as well as just a few rows up several times (never in the finals though).
I had decent Miami season tickets for the last few years and it was amazing getting to see my home team make it to the finals 4 years straight. This season was the first time I didn't renew them, and I think I made the right choice.
What team do you root for btw?

Elax probably fuckin blows
And yeah I have a pinched nerve or something in my shoulder blade thats been bugging me for like 5 months now. I'm finally getting a physical next week to get it checked out so I can get back on the court.
I live in Atlanta so go hawks! They're looking fucking fantastic this year. Too bad playoffs are always an entirely different story with ATL sports teams. If they don't get to the ECF AT LEASTI have no choice but to consider this season a complete and utter failure. Especially now that D Rose is hurt and the Wizards are looking like shit. Should be able to give the Cavs a run for their money

Yea you summed it up perfectly.
I'm really surprised at how well your Hawks are playing this season. They don't have a proper "superstar" and yet they got a bunch of good but not great players to play amazingly. I give so much credit to the Hawk's coach.
Out of all the EC teams besides Miami, the Hawks are the only team I've genuinely cheered for before. Not really as a fan of them, but because of all these years being the underdog and fucking up constantly in the post season. I'm just a sucker for underdog stories in general I guess.
I think you guys are gonna breeze through to the ECF's . The only team I see as a bad match up on the way there would be the Wizards. And as far as the Cavs go; If one of their star players goes down (doesn't have to be LBJ), the Hawks have a hell of a great shot of making it to the finals IMO.
It'll be a fun match up for me to watch if the Hawks play the Heat in the first round. Which would be the case if the season ended today.

Apparently im not allowed to talk about any other players or teams without being a "poser". Shut your stupid ass up. If you weren't aware this is the SPORTS forum which means I can talk about any team or player I fucking want to.
Also what in my posts indicates that im not black? You sound like an ignorant fuck. Ill be waiting for your answer.

Elax, do you need a time-out buddy?
I'm just fucking with you man but you certainly seem to ruffle up countless jimmies in the sports forum here.
I'm surprised I've never gotten into it with you about anything, but I guess I've only really talked to you about basketball and soccer (when it was the world cup).
Gonna start posting in the NFL thread next season. It seems I've been missing out on the best part of the sports forum.

I've always been chill towards him, and him towards me. I got nothing bad to say about the guy.
Enough gossip though. It's TNT Thursday night basketball in a couple hours.
We got the Cavs vs Warriors followed by the Thunder vs Suns.
The first game I really don't wanna miss. I miss watching LeBron play since he left Miami, but I also want the Warriors to wreck the Cavs in the box score.
It feels like it's gonna be a really fast paced, high scoring game since neither team has a great D but both have so many weapons to attack offensively. Should be fun.

I'm picking the Cavs tonight. Not sure what the spread is but i'm taking LBJ and Kyrie at home over a hurt steph curry and Klay Thompson.
I'm not really interested in seeing the Suns play since they traded all their guards but I'm sure Westbrook and company will get it done tonight.

The Vegas line for the game is really tight. They are calling for the Warriors at +2.
I rarely bet on the NBA during the regular season and specifically avoid betting on games with lines as tight as tonight. The payoff would be good, but it's way too much of a risky bet.
I wasn't even aware Curry and Thompson were hurt. Are they active or have been already ruled out for the game? If they're both out then I might possibly place a heads up bet for the Cavs to win.

sorry I worded that poorly. Curry is the only one that's hurt. He has a sore foot or something like that. Didnt stop him from dropping 30 on the wizards but they've been playing like ass so I think tonight will be different

Betting on basketball is crazy IMO. The end of the game is too hard to predict. That being said i bet the Warriors cover.

I see.
I'm a huge fan of Steph Curry. Ever since I watched him lead his Davidson squad deep into March Madness I gained so much respect for him. You could see how great of a pure shooter he was even at 18 years old.
Not only did he break all sorts of scoring and 3pt records for Davidson, but his dad, Del Curry was such a baller back in the day in the NBA.

Yea. Professional gamblers tend to stay very far away from betting on regular season NBA games. Playoff and finals games are only marginally easier to predict.
College ball on the other hand is far more predictable, and a pretty good sport to start betting on if you're just getting started with sports gambling.

Yea dude. He was a pretty decent player in college.
I thought he did get signed last season for a 10 day contract, but got cut after the 10 days. I don't remember what team though.
I know Blake Griffin's brother got a 10 day as well recently (either last year or 2 years ago) and he completely blew that. To be fair though, he wasn't all that great in college. Especially when comparing him to Blake.
