Newbie with a few questions

Soon to start my first grow. Going to follow PF-Tek, but want to clear up a few things first. Some videos about this Tek (http://www.mushroomvideos.com/BRF-Pf-Tek...http://www.fungifun.org/English/Pftek) and other guides have different incubation containers like terrarium's with moist perlite as a base, some say 10% bleach/water mix, some just say straight water mixed. Does it matter all that much with the bleach? Other guides have said use an aquarium heater fully submerged under water using 2 containers (jars in top container). Another guide said use a plexi-glass drip shield. The first link I posted also doesn't use a humidity gauge or any type of temp. measuring meter and simply has a plastic container with a bunch of holes in it. Just want to clarify which is best, what do I or SHOULD I use for best results? And why do some terrariums say definitely use a humidity gauge and some don't even mention it at all.
Thanks!

You've got it somewhat mixed up. Those boxes with perlite is called a fruiting chamber, for the fruiting stage. The box in another box with water and aquarium heater is the incubator. www.mushroomvideos.com is the right place to start! Don't use bleach. yuck. I wouldn't like bleach in my chamber if I were a mushroom!
EDIT: also, you don't need a hygrometer in the shotgun terrarium with the holes, because it's design to have perfect conditions, while most hygrometers are design to take your money. You don't need an incubator either, unless it's really cold and you for some reason don't want to heat a room for you and your jars.

Don't use an incubator if your house is anywhere from 70 to 80 just let the jars colonise on a shelf. Use straight water to moisten the perlite on your fruiting chamber. That mushroom videos website you were referring to has 4 short video clips on it. The 3rd one is how to build a shotgun fruiting chamber. Actually watching those 4 video clips in order and following them exactly is the best way to do the pf tek. The guy who made that video is one of the moderators here he knows his shit those videos don't have any bad info and cover the whole process from start to finish.

Ok, because that's what I was curious about; if those short clips actually did entail every detail from start to finish or if they were just brief clips of the steps. It seemed like it covered it all after I watched them all about 3 times, but I had to make sure. Any other tips for best results? I've read some other threads on tips for the beginner, but I just want to get a lot of different opinions or inputs. Always helps. And thanks a lot guys!

Some people use weak coffe instead of water and add a little gypsum to the mix. It's supposed to help speed up the mycilium growth. I'm sure you'll find some other tweaks if you look around but there not nessacary. If you follow those clips to the T you'll get mushrooms.

Haven't ordered any syringes yet, still acquiring some funds (poor college kid). Looking to order 2-3 different strains probably. Any suggestions?

If your going to do pf tek any cube should be fine I recently grew koh samui and they come out like these little fat things they don't get big on pf cakes but besides that people are gunna tell you all the cubenisis mushrooms are all the same pick one you think looks cool. Penis envy strain is the exception to the rule of them all being the same i believe because its a mutant strain it Has slightly diffrent growing paramaters. Just check out some grow logs see what looks cool. Some sites let you get like 4 syringes but they pick the strain but you get a better deal that way. I usually buy the random pack things I'm cheap though.

Just pick the names you like. They all have the exact same growing parameters aside from penis envy which may benefit from a casing layer to limit first flush mutants.
If you're interested in learning a bit about strains this post has links to a lot of good information http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/18836421#18836421
