I know about Psilocybe cyanescens and Cubensis but I'm curious to know; What other species grow in western Washington?

This should be a good year if the frost doesn't hit early. '00 an '01 were the best years I've ever seen but last year was good, too. It's fun to see if you've never seen it before. The shrooms are coming up everywhere.

Start off by learning to identify cyanescens, stuntzii, Baeocystis, semilanceata, and azurescens. Those are the more common actives, and if you're just starting, it's better to fully learn about those species rather than spread yourself too thin trying to learn all of them. If you are in Seattle I'd put some extra focus on cyans and stuntzii.
Good luck and welcome to Washington.

I've spent my last few mornings in parks around town. I'll get there, I'm confident it just takes time.

I made all of my major finds in mid-late November. I found P Pelliculosa. They come up in big patches, with an orange spot in the patch. I used to see Azurescens and Cyans in the park sometimes.

What do you mean about The orange spot? I've been wanting to find pelli's I'd appreciate if you could elaborate a bit. Thanks

Part of the patch is orange. It happened with both of my finds so I'm assuming it's characteristic of this shroom. The orange spot is small.

Also keep in mind it is early in the season, so even if you aren't finding any, you might try prospective spots later in the season. I don't know how many times I went back to a hopeful spot to be pleasantly surprised.
