An Unfortunate Discovery
    #18941026 - 10/06/13 04:04 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

I noticed one of my Trich. Pachanoi's was a little mushy on the bottom so I pulled it up for an examination and discovered mold on the bottom. I took a look at two others in the same pot and there was really bad mold on another and early mold growth on the last one.

I'm wondering if these pups will survive after the cactus scabs up and I root them again.

Also should I go ahead and cut the bottom off of this one? There is mold but it's not terrible yet.

Don't re cut them just because they have a little bit of mould. You could just spray with alcohol or dust with sulphur. You only need to cut if they are rotting.

The two I cut were very bad so I had to cut them, and the last one I wiped with Isopropyl alcohol. Do you think the pups will survive after I root them again?

The pups will be fine as long as the log has still got life to feed the pups they will keep growing.
