the general consensus is that the stuff isnt that great. do a search for it, there have been threads on it before.

damnet, the search got me miscellaneous documents that dont say anything about the compost my friend is using...what did you use as the search word?

try searching for "mushroom compost" in cultivation. You will get lots of threads that aren't what you're looking for, you just have to sort through them to find what you want.

This stuff is no good for substrate. Because it has been used as substrate already, most of the nutrients your mushroom need to grow, have been used up already.

hopefully it will serve as a casing layer then..the bag says that the mushrooms were picked after only one fruiting and that there is still plenty of food left in the media...he doesnt know if its necesarily MUSHROOM food but it said food.
