Question about dunking coir fruit tray

As yall know dunking cakes is easy but dunking an aluminum tray with coir as the substrate?! Question is how the heck does one go about dunking a coir substrate tray after a first flush without creating a big doozy (and then havin to call Suzie!)?! And ive also heard that one can make holes at the bottom of the aluminum fruiting tray so that wen one dunks that tray all the water will come out through the holes and one does not have to inadvertently dump the entire substrate out while trying to drain the water out of the tray! Yet ive also heard that holes at the bottom of the fruiting tray encourages underpinning!
Can this issue be solved if one were to get a second aluminum tray (without holes this time) and place the tray with holes inside the one without holes ? This way no underpinning will occur and one will be able to easily without hassle drain the water out of the fruiting tray wen it comes times for dunking! ?

You really don't haft to dunk if you don't want to. Just heavy mist(not so much that it puddles) a few times the day you harvest. Fan the same. Coir doenst need a dunk for a 2nd flush. By the 3rd flush you'll prob end up with a contam.

Two things:
First, don't use aluminum trays. The mycelium eats holes in it, and then pins on the bottom from the fresh air.
Second, simply pour water over the top of the substrate and around the edges, wait an hour for it to absorb, and then pour whatever hasn't absorbed back out. You could do the whole thing with a lot of misting, but this is easier and faster. RR
This is after one flush:

I agree with RR on dunking them in the trays, then doing the ole "tilt and drain" to remove excess water.
I often get asked what to do if it breaks in the process? : Shove it back together and pretend it didn't happen, fruit as usual.
Aluminum is kinda poopie in the long run too.

Plastic. Whatever size you'd like to use. 6qt- 34 qt tubs have worked well for me. What're you using as a fruiting chamber? SGFC or Martha?
When large trays like a 34 qt, I buy two of them. Use one to colonize in and when the time come to fruit, I place 6, 2" holes in the 2nd tub(like a mono but all level. As close to the sub as possible.) Then its done. Fan and mist twice a day. Random, but I thought I'd share. Lol
6qt tubs work well with Sgfc's and Martha's

You can use plastic as a liner inside your aluminium trays if you want to use the trays! It's up to you

I have had trays corrode even with the liner, though it will give it a chance

Like space said, just put a liner in your aluminum tray. Problem solved
