Habitat:This mushroom was one of many i found growing in long rich grass near areas where cattle are known to graze. I live in New Zealand, wellington. They were growing in soil and were relatively spread out, finding around 2 or 3 in the same exact area. Gills: This is an image of the gills.
Stem:The stems have varied on length based on the maturity of the mushroom ranging from 1 inch to nearly 4 and also were hollow.
The total length of the mushrooms ranged from 1inch to 4inch, the diameter of the head of the mushroom tended to be around 3cm but could range up to 6 or 7. They all have a beige and when bruised formed dark patches on bruised area. The stem were predominantly hollow while the head of the mushroom was fairly solid. They tended to be thin in terms of stalk width and head thickness. After prolonged exposure after being picked some of the mushroom head began to become slimy. Here is another image of the mushroom
Cap:The diameter of the cap ranged from 3cm to 7cm. After time some of the caps became slimy. The caps were neither convex or concave but horizontally straight throughout the cap. Here is an image of the cap-
The caps also tended to be very spherical.
I understand the spore print is very significant in identifying a mushroom but due to my inexperience in any types of mushroom identification i feel i am unable to produce a reliable spore print sample.
Bruising: When bruised on the cap the mushroom slowly turns a brownish/blackish colour on the bruised area.
Other information: I was hoping these would be safe to eat and hallucinogenic but after the purple/blue bruising didn't occur i am doubtful. I am completely new in the mushroom identification process and any feedback or comments is welcome

It appears to be an Agrocybe species. It's not psychoactive.

Re: Identify please , thank you for previous opinion on my first post. After finding out these were not psychoactive i went back out there and found a new species resembling the 'liberty cap' and was hoping if you could either confirm or reject this assumption.

They are Panaeolus. Look like Panaeolus papilionaceus. There may be more than one Panaeolus species in the collection.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.
