Looks like Amanita muscaria but it would be nice to see the bulb at the base of the stem to be more certain

Are there any other ways of being able to accurately identify this with out the bulb at the base of the stem? Also if it is has any one on the forums used them for there psychoactive properties?

It looks right but without the bulbous base we can not say it is with a clear conscience. Go back out and look again for some, they usually flush several times a year.

I see you live in the U.K., these are probably very potent specimens.
The ones around me never seemed to do much to me, I have Amanita muscaria var. guessowii
Robert Plant ate them in The Song Remains The Same.

There is no question, they are A. muscaria.
