I was thinking of repasturizing my used casing and using it as substrate on new casing . Anyone done this? Would it work? I use 100% poo on large tub. What you guys think?

My casing is usually pretty yucky by the time its spent, if not mostly colonized. I do however like composting them and using them as fertilizer in my garden
So no, I would not re use it. But if you do, keep us updated

What?
Casings != substrate, recycling substrate = no; recycling casings = no. So I would have to say NO.

The casing layer is only the top layer on a colonized bulk substrate, nothing else. 'Casing' sure as hell isn't a name for a mushroom growing project. RR

This actually makes no sense at all if you know what a casing layer is. Using used casing material as substrate to be put on top of a fresh casing layer?

Yeah that is what hacker and I are talking about. I think he may be confusing some terms. Or maybe we are just confused

Hehe, it was supposed to be a point in there about how it's not just about semantics, or that we are strict for pointing out his wrong choice of words. He, and remarkably many others, actually makes no sense!
Guess my point got lost in the smoke..

Manure is a substrate, and no you don't want to re-use it because it's spent. It's great for the garden though. RR
