My first full beer was a Sierra Nevada I snagged from the fridge. Hard as hell to choke down at 11, so incredibly bitter at the time, but I did. Next couple that followed were a lot easier
First beer I ever tasted, though, was a Guinness my dad let me take a few sips of.

Mine was a Red Dog at 14. I almost puked. I remember chasing sips of beer with soda.
Didn't drink Red Dog again until last year during my Senior year of college. Our house probably went through 300 cases of it. $10 a 30 rack cannot be beat.

Yup stone's great stuff. IPAs are also my favorite/most drank style by far. Right now I'm having a "Hop Notch IPA" by Uinta brewing that I like a little more than Stone's IPA, not that Stone isn't great too. Stone's Ruination is really damn good too. Bell's Two Hearted, Uinta's Hop Notch, and Sierra Nevada's Torpedo (and seasonal IPAs like fall's "Flipside") are my go-to's.
Two Hearted is really damn similar to Stone IPA, actually.

Coors light. I feel as though a nice Cold as the Rockies Coors Light would have been a great first beer.

I'm 100% happy with my first beer. When I got into high school and parties and everyone was drinking keystone & natty light, well.. after the first night of drinking at least 10 of the worst tasting drink I've had, I made it a point to bring my own beer. Anytime someone asked me for one, I'd let them take a sip of mine, they'd declare it as the worst beer they've ever had and not bug me again after that
Yeah I'm so glad I can get fresh Bell's and Founders here in IL very easily now. I wish I had (tried a Surly brew). Surly (and every other brewery) is about to drop their wet hop/hop harvest ale.. Someday
4 Hands brewery out of St. Louis should be making its way around in a couple years. Only started in 2011, and man did they start out right. GREAT beer. But of course, anythings better fresh We have one beer called Contact High and one named after the Phish song "Divided Sky" (divided sky rye IPA)

I'm going to be buying a lot of pick-sixes quite soon .
Do you have a Beer Advocate account? I love keeping track of my beers on there. Unfortunately, I always forget to update it and lose my notes so I only have like 6-7 beers reviewed.

I lurk there but rarely post. Never reviewed any, I don't think. Rate beer I have, and the mobile app "uptapped" a couple.
I like the beer forum here, too
