I've got some outdoor grows that have some pretty good size pins but the weather is getting down in the 40s and the 50s at night so I was wandering at what degree and how long at that degree would my mushies stop growing or die?

I cover my pins in straw and water it well when this happens then this is what happens....

I would have never seen these if I didn't pull the top straw layer back.

You could damage the fruits. I would say it isn't worth it. Plus a bale of straw is so cheap and you get so much

I don't have any straw but last night I misted with some decently  warm water between hot and luke warm. So will this help my grow to speed up through the cold nights and will the cold nights still allow growth but just really slow growth?

Nope. Water will make it get colder, faster.

Think about being warm inside and then stepping outside dry vs wet

I have no idea whether this is helping or not,
but older people usually cover their plants during the winter with old leaf they rake from their garden.
It helps weak plants e.g. roses to survive when the ground freezes.
Maybe this could help insulate your mycelia network underground?

I was thinking the same thing. If it were me I'd buy a couple cheap strofoam coolers or however many you need. And also get some body warmers. They only cost $1.25. I'd place the cooler over the fruits and put a body warmer or two underneath the cooler. Just an idea. It suck to lose them. Pics would be cool!
