Storing colonized bag
    #18939787 - 10/06/13 11:17 AM (10 years, 3 months ago)

Hi!

So around June of this year, I decided to start growing shrooms, so I bought a grow kit (for generic mushrooms - a bag of rye and a syringe of psilocybe cubensis).

After following the instructions, I was left with a fully colonized bag of rye and a colonized casing layer of vermiculite. I left the bag in a bigger gaseous exchange bag with a bit of soaked perlite.

However, I had to halt proceedings as I was to leave the country for the summer, so I left the bag in a box in garage (I live in England, btw). Now, after summer, I've come back and the bag appears to be in the same state as it was when I left.

I've put everything on a windowsill in a small room with a fan heater to provide warmth. But the question remains, AM I WASTING MY TIME?

I still have about 8cc from the spore syringe, so should I buy another grow kit?

No, buy a pc and spawn bags and do it yourself

That way, if this fucks up, you can repeat until you're successful and then keep it going for like $10 a grow.

I would try and spawn the bag to coir/verm. It'll cost $20 including the tub and if it works, you'll have some fruits. If it doesnt, you wont. But its not a life changing amount of money, but could be quite successful
