Amanita muscaria var ?
#18939290 - 10/06/13 08:50 AM (10 years, 3 months ago) |
|
|
Habitat: Growing in grass and from moss, close to a couple of large pine trees in Massachusetts
Gills: White close
Stem: Hollow roughly the same size as caps Cap: 1-5 inches, yellow fading from heavy rain Spore print color: White
Bruising: None noted

Heres a suspected brown fly agaric. I'm not too sure about this guy though, it had a darker brown spot in the center.

A. Frostiana I think, it was growing right next to the first species I posted. The stems were much thinner and didn't have much of a bulb. Also were stained yellow.

I agree with Guessowii, never seen one so faded, most of the mushrooms had standing water on the caps which would explain the fading I believe.
Brunnescens is a much better canidate than A. muscaria on #2. It doesn't have the cleft foot but it doesn't necessarily have to have one right?
Flavoconia is possible. Frostiana is more often found in the woods than in grass isn't it?

The "brown fly agaric" looks a lot like A. amerirubescens. The bulb doesn't match A. brunnescens.

I guess not but I've never seen one that wasn't.
I agree that the last one looks like A. flavoconia.

Amerirubescens is pretty likely I would say. It had didn't have a shaggy vulva but had a shaggy pattern on the vulva if that makes sense? Almost like you just scratched rings around it with your finger nail as opposed to most which stick out.
