The Last of Us?

I remember drooling over this game last Summer (2012), and just realized the other day this this guy is out (I'm too far removed from my gamerhood these days).
Anyone played it? ... Any good? Still $60 new, $50 used...

It was a touching and emotional rollercoaster of non stop action and i personally enjoyed it immensely.

how long was your first playthrough?
I'm mostly a PC gamer these days; since moving in with my lady I haven't been able to get in on any console gaming except for the occasional Little Big Planet together... Because of that, I'm not sure if I'd have time to pursue multiplayer at all.

Dude, get The Last Of Us. I'm sure you won't regret it. The storyline draws you in, the scenes are INTENSE. The game forces you to really learn how to play games again (we're so used to everything being given to us), it requires a lot of strategy and patience at some parts. The ending was great as well! But I won't give you any spoilers. Just buy it

great game it's more stealth then action so you'll want to take your time and avoid being spotted but there is a well done emotional story with a wide variety of environments and enemies

I thought it was going to be like resident evil.
Instead of shooting being prominent, it ends up being a "oh shit I fucked up shoot and pray"
Im about 3X% done and am In no hurry to finish. Defiantly not my kind of game. Should have bought a 8th instead.

This game is one of the best if not THE best game I have ever played. The only other one that was such a clear cut winner for me was Final Fantasy VII..
Very simply this game is absolutely incredible.

Can you compare the gameplay to anything else recently released? I'd be interested in giving this game a go, but have been pretty disappointed lately (cough RE6 cough).

Probably gonna have to give it a try. RE4 was one of my favorite games in semi-recent memory.

Not to think of offhand. I have played up to RE4 and I wasn't that interested in that one, it wasn't bad but I just wasn't drawn in.
The Last of Us hooked me right from the start. The story is amazing. I don't usually get emotional with video games but I was very sympathetic to what the characters were going through. It was very, human? If that makes any sense. I usually am numb to a lot of stuff most of the time but this game made me feel emotions that I don't often feel. Hard to explain.
Get it, if you aren't put off by not shooting through all situations and thinking things out and planning a little bit then get this for sure. Really it isn't that hard or anything, I am pretty shitty when it comes to making strategies and not bulldozing through the whole thing. A lot of it I could just shoot through and the ones that I couldn't I would die a few times until I figured it out and that doesn't bother me at all.
This is at the very top of my list of games that I enjoyed highly. I played it until I beat it nonstop if I remember correctly.
Honestly I don't think you will regret getting it, I apologize if you get it and you do.

Awesome, I'll def plan to ^^,
I hate paying for.... things... (pirate bay, can I get an AMEN?) and usually wait until games are ~$30 but I'm pretty damn stoked to play this. I might have to break a few personal rules a drop the $50

I could sell my copy to you if you wanted. I doubt I will play it again even though I enjoyed it. I don't like repeating games really unless the story line changes and even then that is a stretch because I have a very short attention span lol.

Appreciate the reply. The game sounds right up my alley. I actually prefer where there's a bit of strategy and you can't just run around Duke Nuke'em Guns a Blazin.' Kinda sounds a little bit like the gameplay difference with Thief: The Dark Project when it first came out.

Thief was the tits* although I always got annoyed when they put a supernatural story line to it-- would have been perfectly fine Thief'in it up in harder and harder mansions without fighting (avoiding) monster people looking for talismans. Hitman 2 nailed that on the head: When the gameplay is so damn fun, JUST GIMME KICKASS GAMEPLAY.
Did you play Dishonored? It has a similar vibe, in fact they throw in an awesome Thief easter egg if you're paying attention.
