Question about uncolonized cake birth

So I had a jar that did not colonize all the way. It had pins on it, I was informed that it may have been due to bacteria but the jar did not have a bad smell ( just smelled like shrooms) so I said fuck it and birthed it. I scraped the uncolonized material off and put it in to fruit. I can see growth in the pin and it's only the second day after birthing. Since it was substrate ( that was not colonized) I had scraped off I take it is possible to a contam. I now have a styrofoam type white material on the bottom of my cake. Help much appreciated.

I'm sorry it's been a really long day. I wanted to know how likely it is for a contam to take hold of the part I scraped off. The jar was about 90% done and it seems to be fruiting fine. I'm wondering as a noob is there anything that can make these mushrooms harmful to eat. And what that could look like.

You might be ok, you might not. The fact that you had a contam invitro means that the possibility that you have a contam pop up before the first flush definitely exists. But that's no reason to not give er a try Just keep an eye on it.

Will do there was a white texture growing from the substrate part of the cake in its chamber. Completely different from mycelium. And it spread damn fast, so I just cut the bottom part off the cake hopefully it will be ok now. I forgot to tell you before I never cut off the substrate just washed the cake off. (Stupid noob I know). But anyways there will always be a visual sign to unsafe shrooms?

That don't sound good. Sounds like mold. If your problem was just bacterial contam I'd say that you were maybe ok. But what you just described sounds like trich. In which case your fucked. If ya see green be sure to toss it asap Any fruit that does not have visible mold on it is safe however.
Edit: too baked, need less

Yeah deff not green it was fluffy white and grew a lot over night I guess I'll know tomorrow if it comes back I'm almost positive it has nothing to do with the invitro and uncolonization. I'm pretty sure it's because I left nutritious materials on the bottom of the cake in open air for about ten minutes I'd say that would do it.

Trich mycelium is bright white before it sporulates green. Just keep an eye on it.

Yeah I totally cut it off. So as long as there's no mold on my cake and fruits look normal then there's no need to worry about bad shrooms?

If the fruits look healthy then they are fine.
