Just listened to that, he's still spreading misinformation.  You don't spread theories as fact, wtf.  Manna being psychedelic, pineal being 3rd eye, pineal gland's job making DMT.  I have no problem with people spreading theroies, but you NEED to identify it as such.  He speaks ideas as facts, and that's why I dislike him.

I challenge you to post a RECENT link of him saying those theories as fact and not identifying them as theories . . .

No matter what you think of the guy, his podcasts bring forth some legitimate intellectual discussions. He has a wide variety of guests talking about everything you can think of, and they use all the information and knowledge they have to discuss the topic at hand.

I think he just takes all the information he can find and bases his opinions and theories off that. I don't think he try's to say all these things are fact.

Your opinion sucks. And stop saying honey.

Just because someone was a meathead, or appeared to be a douchebag in years long since passed, does not mean that is who they are forever. Nor does it mean people are just one-dimensional.

He's a cool normal guy. He doesn't pretend to have all the answers, and he admits himself a lot of his rantings come from, or are inspired by other philosophers such as Bill Hicks, Mckenna, etc. He's not the most eloquent, but he puts the ideas in a simple format that the average lay person can relate to. He keeps an open mind about things and talks honestly about what he believes, which is more than I can say for 95% of the dickwads in media. He's a good influence for all the bros.

He promotes positivity, living a healthy lifestyle, and being a good decent human being. I don't know what the fuck kind of problem you could have with that.

excactly, i dont know what the fuck your guys problem is.

I like his podcast and every other podcast his show got me into.
Duncan Trussell family hour, Ari Shaffir's skeptic tank, the church of what happening now with Joey Diaz, Bertcast, and the Bryan Callen show is good sometimes.
The JRE alone is probably 1K hours of free entertainment.

His outlook is too positive sometimes for me.

I agree, Yogabunny.  Joe Rogan is good for the counterculture.  It's almost as if he's an undercover hippie operative that has infiltrated the UFC, jock mentality, bonehead crowd.  That crowd wouldn't hear those ideas from Wavy Gravy, but they'd listen to "one of their own".

My post wasn't directed at those that don't like what he has to say, it was directed at those who call him a meathead as their justification as to why they don't like him. I have no problem with people disagreeing with the way he spreads his message. I do, however, have a problem with the rampant "headier than thou" attitude that I see on this forum. Judging someone as a "meathead" because they work out, take martial arts, and work for UFC is straight up ignorant. It's an attitude that I've seen for years, and not just here. Every single person I've seen that has this attitude is an unathletic beta male, and they're taking out some form of inner insecurity on anyone that's not.

Once again, that post was strictly directed at those calling Joe a meathead. You were not one of those people, so that post was not directed at you. It was mainly directed at that FrenchMachine dude. I figured that was obvious, and therefore didn't use the reply to function.

You responded directly to my post, and I said UFC fans are boneheads.  So you were talking to me.  In general, UFC fans are close minded jocks who are obsessed with fighting and being tough.  That is the same mindset that started wars in Vietnam and Iraq and it's the same mindset that seeks to crush the faggot peace movement.  If it makes me "holier than thou" to not agree with that mentality, then so be it.  I'll bet there are groups of people and mentalities that you don't agree with also.

Let me reiterate that I have absolutely nothing against fitness, working out and being muscular.  I like working out.

I don't think the word "meathead" means what you think it does.  Maybe its meaning has changed over time but for me it just means moron.  I'm not going to opine on whether he is a meathead or not but I did look up transhumanism.  I don't think so.

That's what it means to me.  I definitely think you can be big and buff and still be an intelligent peace advocate.  Joe Rogan is a great example of that.  And he's a great comedian on top of everything else.

newsflash HONEY! opening your mind & heart through use of psychedelic materials and other stillness practices is not just for hippies with dreads who attend music festivals and live out of their van.

by your estimation, my Dad should not be allowed to continue his practice of Yoga because he's a blue collar worker who only ever cared about sports, beer and the standard american diet. i guess he shouldn't be allowed to change and share how his life has changed as a result either? thankfully he IS very vocal about it, and some of the guys he welds with are now going, "hmmm maybe we should check out this yoga thing". & that, in my opinion is a beautiful thing.....

I don't know that I would really describe him as awesome.

His UFC commentary is decent at times, that job fits him well, as did Fear Factor.

His standup is fucking weak, I tried to like it but it's just not funny. Or original. Or well delivered.

I've heard him pass off misinformation as truth repeatedly on his podcasts, especially about how we have "no idea" how the pyramids were made and how we couldn't recreate them today.

He is not a bro, he is the bro archetype.

He does have awesome cars though and I'm sure it'd be fun to live his life for a week, but if I had to listen to his stories about mysticism, dmt as the solution for everything, and humanity as a cancer for that entire week, I might kill myself instead.
