sooooo i have about 40 BRF cakes getting up and running; good and all but i cant seem to deicide if i should case or not...
I can easily go with the SGFC and i was planning on it but shoulllld i?
i have read its not healthy to take the mature cake and damage it by breaking it up then casing it. it does seem quite un natural.
if it matters (im sure it does) they consist of pink buffalo, golden teachers and B pluses. all cubes
1/2 pint tall jars
let me know what yall think please
(im aware threads like this exsist but they are 3 years old... lots of new info from now and then)

You can spawn your cakes to bulk by breaking them up. If it was not 'healthy' we would not do g2g. Casing is not necessary for cubes.

When you roll the cakes in dry verm after the soak, that's a form of casing.
Breaking them up into a tray and casing provides no additional benefit other than taking longer to get your product with an increased chance of contamination due to the 10 day delay in fruiting. RR

How about mixing with a bulk substrate rather than spawning to a casing sub?

I've recommended that for years, but get tired of typing it over and over again. The topic was about casing. RR

thanks guys.
ill give a few cakes to bulk substrate methods a shot and leave the rest for a good old dunk and roll.
ill just switch to grain in the future and save myself the trouble -)
